The Dartmouth Food Festival

The Dartmouth Food Festival

What's On

The South West has become something of a foodie capital in the last few years, and the Dartmouth Food Festival proudly showcases Devon’s yummy produce every October. Ok so summer’s gone, but autumn means reopening the cookery books and serving up hearty meals to keep warm, and this friendly festival is just the place to inspire budding cooks.

The festival runs for two days each year and attracts the biggest names on the celebrity chef scene. The Dartmouth Food Festival sees the fishing port taken over by stand after stand laden with local foods, and the smell of fresh fish, hot pies and cider fill the air. There’s plenty of opportunity to indulge in free samples, and if you’re staying in self catering accommodation you’ll have a great excuse to stock up on ingredients and treats.

There are cookery demonstrations by local and celebrity chefs, so if you’re a bit unsure about how to use some of the produce once back at home you’ll leave with some new skills and tips to impress your family. The festival sees a host of other events take place throughout Dartmouth at the same time, such as wine tasting evenings, workshops and things to do in The Flavel theatre.
