Kingsand BeachKingsand Beach is probably the ultimate family attraction in Kingsand! If you’re on a dog-friendly holiday in the area then this is ideal, as dogs are allowed on the beach all year round. This sheltered shingle beach is a favourite with those on family holidays, as it’s well served by nearby facilities, a large car park and easy access. This is an east facing beach, and there are plenty of rock pools for children to explore at low tide too. The beach is safe for swimming and this is also a popular spot for boating, so you’ll probably be treated to the sight of sailors enjoying the waters. |
Merchants HouseMerchant’s House is another one for the list in Plymouth. Tucked in one of the oldest streets in Plymouth, Merchant’s House is a beautiful historic building that has been home to 3 Plymouth mayors over the years and is packed with history. One former resident, Privateer William Parker, was the friend of Sir Francis Drake himself! The narrow winding stairs within the building lead to rooms brimming with the city’s history. The house is open between April and October, and it's closed every Sunday and Monday (except Bank Holidays). The museum is housed within Merchant's House.
