Downderry BeachIf you venture a few miles to the west during you Kingsand and Cawsand beach holiday, you’ll find Downderry Beach less than half an hour’s drive away. For those who snorkel, the wreck of the Cutty Sark’s sister ship Gypsy can be found off the shore of Downderry. If you prefer to stay on dry land, you can walk from Downderry beach to Seaton at low tide, but check the tide times carefully to avoid the risk of being cut off. Downderry Beach has easy access, sand and shingle and rock pools, so it’s another favourite with young families. Also, there is a car park nearby in the village, a pub right on the beach and access for those launching boats.

Kingsand BeachKingsand beach holidays are ideal for family fun, and particularly dog-friendly beach holidays in Kingsand and Cawsand. The beach is a mixture of sand and shingle, and it’s popular with swimmers. The beach isn’t far from the village, so there are toilets, cafes and amenities nearby should you need them throughout the day. As dogs are welcome on the beach throughout the year, it’s ideal for a family day by the sea or a stroll with your dog. There is plenty of parking close to the beach, in case you pack too much baggage to carry, but bear in mind that the beach is reached via some steps.
