Description

Marsh Mellow is a charming semi-detached house with views over National Trust marsh and wetland, ideal for bird watching. Internally, the property has a country cottage theme throughout, and the path along the marshes can be accessed directly through the gate at the bottom of the garden. Here you will also find the restaurant ‘Off the Rails’ (a recently restored rail station) which accepts well behaved dogs and even has a separate dog menu! Bicycle hire is also available.

Externally, there is an enclosed garden with a summer house; an ideal space for pets to enjoy. Marsh Mellow also benefits from direct access to walking and cycling paths including the famous Tennyson Trail. There is also off-street parking for two cars and a garage with storage space for bikes and outdoor recreational equipment.

The picturesque harbour town of Yarmouth is just a short walk from the property; here you will find a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants. The historic harbour is guarded by Yarmouth Castle, the last addition to Henry VIII's sea defences; walk around the castle and discover the recreated 16th century rooms or simply sit outside and enjoy a picnic while admiring the views out to the sea.

West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is the ideal spot for catching a glimpse of the local wildlife, walking or just enjoying the beautiful countryside. From here take a visit to one of the island's many attractions including Freshwater Bay, Alum Bay’s famous coloured cliffs or the Needles, one of Britain’s most famous landscapes.

Wow, lucky us! What a fantastic break we've had in such lovely surroundings. Thanks so much for the treats found on our arrival for us all. Include Chatie dog and especially the Christmas stocking you left for Sam, lovely touch! Our new buddy Stanley was well behaved and kept us fed and warm throughout. Looking forward to returning.

Relaxing Holiday

We had a lovely relaxing holiday with stunning weather for October. Very comfortable beds and great facilities. Stanley was used throughout and made the house very warm! He did make the water extremely hot so take care! Amazing surrounding and will most definitely stay again. Watch out for the laughing duck who lives on the marsh and can recommend the Chinese and Freshwater. Many Thanks.

Very glad to have chosen ‘Marsh Mellow’ for Christmas as it provided a great home to continue our tradition of an Isle of Wight vacation at Christmas. Best place we have stayed! Thank you very much.

Wow. Lucky us! What a fantastic break we’ve had in such lovely surroundings. Thanks so much for the treats found on our arrival including Charlie the dog and especially the Christmas sticking you left for Sam, a lovely touch.
