Description

The Hollies is a traditional mid-terrace house located on a quiet residential road between Ventnor and Bonchurch. Just a few minutes’ walk away is the centre of Ventnor with its seafront and beaches.

Internally, this four bedroom spacious home has been finished to a high standard throughout. The open plan kitchen and dining area is the perfect place to hold family dinners and benefits from direct access to the garden through large patio doors. Externally, there is a spacious enclosed lawned garden and a patio furnished with a table and seating for eight.

Ventnor is a charming town situated on the South Coast - claimed to be one of the warmest areas of the island. The seafront is home to a selection of cafes, interesting independent shops, amusements, the harbour and a beautiful sandy beach – perfect for entertaining the whole family.

Just a short drive away is one of the prettiest places on the island, Steephill Cove. Situated just south of Ventnor, Steephill Cove is a traditional, unspoilt fishing cove with a safe, sandy beach, nestled between rocky cliffs and smugglers' coves.

A short drive along the coast is the popular seaside resort of Shanklin. Here, the seafront is the focal point and features several eating establishments and pubs. Shanklin Old Village is a small part of Shanklin itself and contains some of the oldest dwellings, the majority of them thatched. It is on a slightly lower level than the town of Shanklin and is famous for its small gift shops and tea rooms.

A fantastic holiday in a great location.

We had a fantastic time at the house – a home from home – thank you. We have been very lucky with the weather and have enjoyed the island. Looking for dinosaur bones and fossils was quite fun and the dinosaur museum was great and very interactive for the kids. The Seaview animal encounter was good for the kids and something a bit different. Going to the Needles was also part of our trip and the chairlift was good but you can also walk down to the beach. A fantastic holiday in a great location. Thank you.

The house has been the perfect base to explore the island

We’ve enjoyed a wonderful week here and the house has been the perfect base to explore the island. The house has comfortably accommodated all 7 of us and the kids took no time at all to settle in. We’ve enjoyed the beaches, walking into Ventnor, Robin Hill, Blackgang Chine, the Model Village and Butterfly World, although found the Needles Park far too commercialised. We recommend getting the weekly pass for Robin Hill/Blackgang Chine if you have small people to entertain and also we missed out of Shanklin Old T own as we ran ou

Wonderful experience

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here in this lovely, typical British cottage. From where it was, it was easy to tour the island. The fact that it is close to the town centre and the countryside made this holiday an even more wonderful experience.

This house is amazing

This house is amazing. It is actually better than my real home. We all kept on calling this house 'home' instead of 'the house' or 'the holiday home'. I wish we could take this house to every holiday I went to.

This house is beautiful

This house is beautiful. I love the décor. The beach theme made me feel like I was on holiday throughout. Everything from the sailing boots to the table mats I found adorable. This house played a big part in why this holiday is unforgettable.

Perfect holiday home

As a group of five, we found this house to be the perfect holiday home. It was fantastic. The garden in particular received plenty of sunlight which was brilliant for our sun bathing needs. Each of us admired the layout of the house, from the carefully selected furniture to the immaculate utilities. Throughout our stay we felt comfortable and at home. Thank you very much for contributing to our amazing holiday.
