The Boathouse held an AA Dinner Award during 2011 and 2012, and with sea views and the kind of food that could turn any visitor into a lover of seafood it’s not hard to see why. The restaurant’s unique in that it serves fine food in a pub environment and the seafood menu showcases the island’s fresh catches to perfection.
Review after review notes the stylish, bright setting and the attentive service that makes The Boathouse special and it’s worth noting that the restaurant opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s perfect if you’re lucky enough to have a smaller appetite as there are always special options created especially for light eaters, but if you feel like pushing the boat out we have it on very good authority that the dessert menu’s well worth gaining a pound or two for!
The specials board changes with the catch of the day and the seasons so there’s plenty to tempt those of you who visit regularly, and don’t worry if you’re not in the mood for seafood as alternatives include rump steak with a glowing reputation. If you’re going to walk the coast path to neighbouring Ryde The Boathouse makes a great starting point, or if you’re coming the other way book a table for dinner and you’ll have something to look forward to when you finish your walk.
