Walkers have trudged their way to the Isle of Wight for its annual walking festival for 15 years, and it always includes a packed programme of walks and events to suit all fitness levels and interests. This award-winning festival is all about enjoying the views of the island, walking and meeting new people, and its imaginative themes and walks keep it fresh every May and October.
You can choose from easy, moderate and difficult walks to that you won’t be left puffing at the back of the group, and the themes included guided fossil walks, special ones for children and even speed dating walks (which now boast 3 weddings as a result!).
If you’re seeking views and fresh air rather than romance, the event also includes woodland, coastal and informative walks over a period of 16 days. Walk the Wight is a sponsored walk and regular festival highlight and the nicest thing about this event is that it attracts all ages and people from all walks (sorry we couldn’t resist) of life.
The Isle of Wight Walking Festival is the biggest walking festival in the UK and the programmes are always available in advance to help you plan a walking holiday around it.
The Isle of Wight Walking Festival takes place every May and October.
