Great weekend

We had a fabulous weekend at Lacewood Barn, the accommodation and facilities were excellent, and the owners could not have been more helpful. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog, the garden was very secure, but yet the barn showed no evidence of doggy wear and tear. Lovely countryside for walks outside the front door, and a short drive to beaches. We loved the welcoming cake and wine which was well received after the journey with kids. Great weekend, we will definitely look to stay here again.

Lacewood Barn, Fernhill Farm

Thanks Karen and Karl for the warm and personal welcome. The photographs of the barn do not do it justice. It has a beautiful setting and fantastic mod-cons. The wine, cake, eggs and milk were a pleasant surprise and show that Karen and Karl went that little bit further than most to welcome you. The Isle of Wight has been superb and we have especially the beaches. We found The Hare and Hounds at Downend to have very good food, lovely children's play area and is very welcoming with dogs. Shanklin old village had some lovely tea rooms. Our dog, Roxy, loved the garden and barn and was made to feel at home by Karen and Karl and loved standing guard at the bi-folding doors as walkers and horses went by. It was also very handy to be able to leave our bikes in one of the other barns, and would definitely come back. Thanks for everything, see you next year.

Much needed holiday.

After a few years of illness - a much needed holiday needed booking. I searched on the web and went to IOW as this is where we longed to go albeit a long journey for us from Bedfordshire. I spied Blue Chip which to me meant good quality and found the Fernhill Hill barns and promptly booked Lacewood Barn. On arrival Karl and Karen Brown were there to meet us who were so welcoming and were on hand for anything we needed and provided welcome goodies which were much appreciated. We found our surroundings were perfect for our much needed rest, lovely woodland walks for us and our dog. The accommodation was first class which included a large garden for our dog to run in. The village was close by and had everything you would need. The barn was within easy reach of all attractions on the island. We have returned home feeling much better and will be returning at some point.

Lacewood Barn, Fernhill Farm

Thank you so much Karen and Karl - everything was perfect! Cake and wine was delicious and fresh eggs from your chickens - such a bonus! We all loved the barn and garden, Eliza especially. Cedars Pub at the top of the hill by the Spar shop, within walking distance provided excellent food and you can take your dogs too! We hope to return some day to the beautiful Isle of Wight and your charming hospitality.

Highly recommended!

The holiday house is located in a lovely setting, right at the end of a country lane, few steps from a lovely lake and with beautiful countryside walks at the doorsteps. The house is spacious and well equipped, has a big and well maintained garden with garden furniture. Karen and Karl are lovely, we found a delicious cake, a bottle of wine, milk and fresh eggs on our arrival, which was a very nice touch. We are planning to go back next year!

Lacewood Barn, Fernhill Farm

We have been coming to the Isle of Wight for a number of years and Lacewood Barn has been the best accommodation we have stayed in. It's really well equipped and has lovely personal touches. The large garden is fantastic and our two boys loved playing out there.

Lacewood Barn, Fernhill Farm

Brilliant! Thank you so much to Karen and Karl. The property is stunning and worked well for us with a two year old and a 3 month old. Great to know baby facilities are available- will free up some much needed boot space in not having to bring a cot and highchair etc. The cake was delicious, along with the wine and eggs- thank you. We really appreciate the twin room being reorganised so our toddler was less likely to fall out of bed. Location was great, we enjoyed some great day trips (Osborne House, Botanical Gardens, Ryde, Shanklin, Black Gang Chine etc) and just relaxing in the barn and garden. The BBQ was great too. No doubt we will have to book well in advance to stay here again as word spreads.

Lacewood Barn, Fernhill Farm

From the moment we arrived at Lacewood Barn we felt very at home.Karen and Karl went out of their way to welcome us even leaving a freshly baked cake and fresh free range eggs from their own chickens for us.The barn it's self has been very tastefully renovated with everything you would need for a lovely holiday.Clean and comfortable and well maintained. The garden area was a real bonus and we even managed to use the barbeque on a couple of occasions. The fact that this two bedroom barn also had two bathrooms was handy for two couples. Also having two televisions was good as I could still watch my soaps !I cannot praise Lacewood barn enough and would have no hesitation returning or recommending it to friends and family wishing to visit the Isle of Wight.
