The accolade of ‘Isle of Wight County Dining Pub of the Year’ by The Good Food Guide is a highly sought-after one on the Wight, and as it was awarded to The New Inn in 2012 and 2013 we had to include it as one of our recommended spots for a bite and a tipple. This pub has been squeezing hopefuls in to enjoy its fish and game for more than three decades, and as the restaurant has expanded since the old days it’s now spacious and there’s always plenty of room despite its popularity.
Did we mention that The New Inn has also won the AA ‘Pick of the Pubs’ every year for the last ten? Yes, it’s fair to say that with its elegant ambience and food that keeps people returning to the island this pub is something special, so make sure you drop in during a stay nearby. If you visit on a dry day bring your walking boots, the pub marks the start of an easy walk towards the estuary that’ll blow the cobwebs out after your meal.
