With a Quality Coast Award to impress the grown ups and all the traditional trimmings of a seaside resort for the children, East Cowes Beach is one of the Isle of Wight’s most charming. Just a short walk from the centre of Cowes, the beach has a promenade that’ll have you feeling all nostalgic and the kind of sweeping views we’ve all come to know and love the Wight for.
The beach is easy to reach however you decide to travel to it, and you’ll not only have a great view of the yachting action over in Cowes but you’ll also find a play area for the children and shops and cafes nearby. There are some fantastic woodland walks nearby, so why not use the beach as a starting point for one of the Isle of Wight walks you’ve been planning to do?
This is mostly a shingle beach, so we’d recommend it for a stroll or for watching the children let off steam beside the seam, and there’s a seasonal dog ban. Close to the Victorian resort of East Cowes, this beach is a family favourite and it’s a nice reminder of days gone by.
