Full Property Description

3 The Moorings View is a stylish 2 bedroom second floor apartment in the oldest Regency Terrace on Beacon Hill in Torquay, directly opposite Beacon Quay, which itself overlooks Torquay Harbour.

The apartment benefits from beautiful views directly over the marina from the living area and bedroom 2 reaching across to Living Coasts, the harbour, and Torbay including the Bay at Livermead, Churston, Paignton and Brixham. It has been decorated to a high standard in contemporary neutral colours and a white wooden kitchen, all in keeping with the period of the property plus an added touch of opulence.

Located just next door to the property is the Michelin starred Elephant Restaurant where you can experience fine dining in one of the most stylish restaurants in Devon.

Step out of the front door and you are in the heart of Torquay, with its cafés, restaurants and shopping. Living Coasts is a minute away, as is the beach at Beacon Cove and Fleet Walk shopping precinct, with its mix of chain stores and independents. Meadfoot Beach is also a short walk away, as are Torre Abbey Sands and Corbyn’s Beach. At the far end of the Marina is the Princess Theatre, which stages national and touring shows with special appearances by the Ellen Kent opera company.

Torquay has been a lifestyle resort since the Napoleonic Wars and gained in popularity after the extension of the railway from Newton Abbot to Paignton in the 19th century. Apart from its many sandy beaches and clear blue sea, the attractionsof the property are numerous.

Babbacombe Downs with its 80-year-old cliff railway, theatre and model village is worth visiting, as is Torquay museum with its exhibitions on past Devon life, and if you want to go back further, Kent’s Cavern boasts the oldest caves in Britain.

Cockington Village, one of the oldest settlements in the area, is to the west and has a tea room in one of the original thatched cottages with another café in Cockington Court, which also houses craft exhibitions and demonstrations. The medieval monastery Torrre Abbey has recently been refurbished and provides some excellent insight into Torquay's history as well as housing some fabulous exhibitions.
