There are six historic towns that collectively form The South Hams each with their own individual charm and unique characteristics; Dartmouth, Salcombe, Ivybridge, Totnes, Kingsbridge and Modbury. Meander along the pretty narrow streets and historic harbours and you will find a welcoming selection of gift shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants and bars.

Head towards the coast and you will be greeted with an amazing selection of golden beaches and hidden coves. For the adventurous among us, water sports are available at many of the larger beaches while the smaller coves offer a peaceful retreat and are perfect for relaxing with a good book and a picnic.

Full Property Description

Millers Loft is located on the beautiful Colmer Country Estate, an 18th Century country estate wonderfully restored to provide high quality self-catering accommodation with fantastic facilities for the whole family. The 28 acres of private grounds include a walled orchard and lake plus plenty of quiet spots where you may be lucky enough to view some of the amazing wildlife including deer and badgers.

Outdoor activities include a kidney-shaped large outdoor swimming pool (heated during the summer season), a tennis court, course fishing, boules and an adventure playground. Indoor activities include a heated indoor swimming pool, gym and a games room including a pool table.

Internally, the apartment occupies the first and second floors of a converted barn, is south facing and benefits from an open plan living, kitchen and dining area. The self-contained apartment is well-equipped and is furnished to a good standard. Externally, the private south facing garden is furnished with a picnic bench which can seat six. Access to the communal grounds is through a pathway which also leads to the communal facilities.

The estate is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area. The beaches of Bigbury, Bantham and Thurlestone are all within a short drive and the market town of Kingsbridge is a six mile drive away. Here you will find an array of small shops and restaurants as well as cruises along the estuary to the popular seaside resort of Salcombe. Dartmouth and Totnes are both within an easy drive as is the city shopping of Plymouth.

Please note: This property welcomes small dogs which must be kept on a lead at all times within the communal area. However, there is 28 acres of paths on the estate where dogs can run free.

Living

  • Located on the first floor and is open plan with the kitchen and dining area.
  • Furnished with two beige leather sofas seating four, coffee table, side tables, TV cabinet with a 32” flatscreen TV with Freeview and DVD player.
  • Dining area comprises a solid wood table and seating for six.
  • Broadband Wi-Fi internet access available.

Kitchen

  • Well-appointed kitchen featuring an electric oven, electric hob, integrated fridge, small freezer and washing machine.
  • Complete with a full range of utensils and accessories including a microwave, kettle and toaster.
  • An iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner are available.
  • A highchair is provided.

Sleeping

Bedroom one

  • Located on the second floor with bay window overlooking the woodland.  
  • Furnished with a king-size bed, two bedside cabinets with lamps, mirror, shelving, integrated wardrobe and chest of drawers.
  • A cot is provided.

Bedroom two

  • Located on the second floor.
  • Furnished with 2ft 6” twin beds which can be made as a double on request, beside wall shelves with spot lamps and wardrobe.

Bathroom

  • Located on the second floor.
  • White suite with large roof window, furnished with bath with overhead shower, wash basin, wc, heated towel rail, mirror and cabinet.

Outside

  • A flight of 12 stairs leading to first floor plus a further seven stairs leading to the second floor.
  • Enclosed patio garden furnished with a picnic bench seating six.
  • Pathway leading to communal grounds and facilities.
  • Communal heated outdoor swimming (heated within the summer months).
  • Communal indoor heated swimming pool, tennis court, gym and games room.
