Within a short drive of Portreath you will find other activities including swimming pools, squash, badminton, outdoor bowls, horse riding and a choice of 6 golf courses. The National Trust coast path is also close by and provides some breathtaking scenery along the spectacular cliffs of North Cornwall. Such fun! Lovely cottage, well equipped and thanks for the Christmas decorations - it all looked lovely when we arrived, with the table set for Xmas lunch with crackers and the tree and lights. We did do the boxing day swim (well, kind of) but it was mild. We love the location - we are often in Cornwall and this is probably the best for us so far. Loved all the supplies in the kitchen - made cooking for our family & visitors (brunch for 11 on Boxing day) very easy. Comfy beds and very cosy. Found getting channels on the TV challenging - nothing at all upstairs. Thanks. 27.12.11
A lovely cottage, and a lovely holiday. We have really enjoyed staying at Waters Edge, it is so comfortable, and well equipped. Beautiful sea views from the windows. Great to be just down the steps from the main beach. The Browns, Bicester. 29.10.11
Very nice location - all amenities close (pubs, chip shop). Would recommend Waters Edge. The bedroom very adequate - kitchen well stocked and rooms tidy and spacious. All in all a very pleasurable experience - sad to leave. PS - if reserving a table for a meal at the Basset Arms, make sure that you ask someone responsible. We reserved a table for Friday evening and found that no reservation was made. 8.10.11
Very homely accommodation - shower is very good. Bedrooms are all very comfortable. Would recommend walk to Porthtowan. It took about 2 hours, and we saw and heard some seals. Porthtowan itself has lovely long beaches. Only fault it was unfortunate that the neighbour was undertaking a lot of noisy work - it meant sitting outside was not an option. Kitchen is very well stocked for any cooking eventuality. 29.09.11
Family bonding and all still speaking!! Lovely cottage, perfect location and weather. Did the Eden Project, Park & Ride to St Ives, I walked the coastal path to the lighthouse and saw the seals - breathtaking! Enjoyed the food and quiz at the Basset Arms. The Beales, Stourport. 17.09.11
We have had a great week and really enjoyed our stay at Waters Edge. Great to be so close to the sea. Would recommend the food at the Waterfront Inn, enjoyed a lovely sunday roast. We took advise and used the park and ride (train) from Lelant Saltings to St Ives which is really busy. It has been really relaxiing staying here, shame we have to go home. 10.09.11
Thank you for the cream tea welcome!! Most appreciated by all! We have had a lovely two weeks, weather most kind. Family live in Illogan so we were on hand to celebrate a christening and 60th birthday. The house is very much home from home!! Would be good to have a chest of drawers in double bedroom (rear bedroom). Thank you again. We were unable to get BBC1 & 2 on bedroom TV. The Holloway Family, Derbyshire. 3.09.11
A lovely house - what a good time we've had. Weather has been kind, we've had lovely walks, relaxing beach times, surfy sea & travels to ancient sites (Lanyon Quoite, Madron Well) so have had a lot of different things to do. Cliff walks towards Gwythian really spectacular and quite scary! Thank you from us all. 11.08.11
We really loved the house! The view was great and it was very nice that we could hear the sound of the sea in the bedrooms. The waves, here in Portreath, are gigantic! The weather has been very good, so it was the perfect time to go surfing. We also walked to Porthtowan. The views we had on that coast path were amazing. We will miss it here. Thank you! (And the scones were delicious)! Family Tilkin Peeters, Belgium. 2.07.11
After shortish drive from overnight stop in Exeter we were pleased to get access to '5 Waters Edge' early on Saturday but it must be Cornish Humour that '5' is actually 'No 41!!'. Location is ideal for a relaxing holiday though parking car can be a problem at times. The weather has been very good all week which made for a great holiday. Luckily our visit to Land's End was perfect and we saw the Scilly Isles clearly. Sennen Cove is very attractive and ideal for an afternoon on the beach. Lovely to have garden next to beach and Atlantic Fish and Chip Shop very handy just up steps! Redruth, Truro, Camborne within easy reach. Thanks for the great weeks holiday. The Palmers, Surrey 2/07/2011
"We had a lovely time although it was all too short. The location was great and good amenities around us in terms of cafe's, pub's etc. Due to the impending new arrival, we spent much time relaxing in the house and it was very homely and easy to relax in. It was clean on arrival and very well equipped particularly in the kitchen." March 2010
"After a long 5 hour drive from London we are all very happy to be welcomed by such a nice and cozy house. We were surprised how spacious the house is and how well it’s been looked after. Unfortunately we chose the worst weekend for weather with hail storms, heavy rainfall, gale force winds of up to 80mph, stormy seas and flood warnings all along the coastline but luckily Waters Edge has a well equipped kitchen that has everything you need to cook up some hearty meals to keep warm! Having the beach on our doorstep was fantastic and we even enjoyed dinner out under the stars on the porch one windy evening with the sounds of the crashing waves in the background. The house is very comfortably furnished and made us feel “at home.” Set in the quite little village of Portreath, we found it is conveniently placed for exploring the many attractions of the Cornish Coast. The local beach pub only a few steps away and the bakery around the corner with fresh Cornish pasty’s was a real treat! The house really did cater for everyone, some of us stayed inside snug on the couch watching tellie while others went off exploring the beach caves at low tide. We found the house to be a warm haven to retreat to each night after a long, cold, wet and windy day out exploring the coastline. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to rest our heads after our days out exploring. We will most definitely refer it to anyone coming down this way and we will be back! Good times were had and our short weekend break away from the big city will always be remembered – thank you for making our stay so comfortable!" From the two Brits, one Aussie and two South Africans, 16/11/09.
