Steeped in Celtic history, smuggling and shipwrecks, Penzance is a charming South Cornwall town full of character with some truly splendid views. Sat in the Land’s End peninsula, its sheltered position and warmer climate make for some interesting plant life and the town is brought to life in the spring and summer months with a blaze of floral splendour.
With Land’s End just ten miles away and excellent links to the wider Cornwall, staying occupied is not a problem during your stay, with rare plant gardens, a helicopter ride to the enchanting Scilly Isles and the striking St. Michaels Mount; there is certainly plenty to see and do. The fascinating history can be explored in the Museum, while a day at one of the sun kissed beaches is the perfect way to relax. With restaurant and pubs aplenty, a fine selection of shops and even an open air theatre on the coast, Penzance makes for an ideal holiday destination.

After some difficulty finding the cottage we were impressed by the size of the cottage and the beautiful gardens. The cottage was fully equipped with all you need. Was nice to sit in front of the log fire on rainy day, or sit out on the patio on sunny days and watch the birds. There are nice walks to Lemorna cove and if you can cope with the narrow roads there are many places to visit. A small car is recommended. Check out the proprietor collection of studio pottery. July 2011."Thank you for a lovely stay in your beautiful cottage. We have had a great week and the weather was good to us. Sennen Cove is beautiful and we loved catching the train to St Ives. Our eldest enjoyed a trip to seal island with her dad while I window shopped with our baby. This was our first time as a family to Cornwall and we were not disappointed. We will definitely return in the future." Emma & James, July 2010."Hollydale is such a special place, the cottage and gardens are just perfect! The children had wonderful fun collecting fire wood for the fire pit. The walk down to the cove is definitely worth the effort. Mousehole is a must, we visited one evening and it was beautiful, unspoilt and so pretty." Sue & Richard, August 2010."Cottage, gardens and location all very pretty. Very comfortable and we found all we would need to in a holiday home. Our son loved flying his kite at Gwithian, as well as the other visits we made." Lorna & Mark, August 2010."Thank you very much for the nice stay we had in this wonderful cottage." Richard & Heidi, August 2010."Thank you very much for a lovely stay in your cottage. Sarah said her bed was LUSH! A big thank you for the Wi-Fi to find she had got her university place. We all felt very relaxed after a great week. A pleasure to meet you and a very big thank you." Sue & Steve, August 2010."We had a lovely stay in this charming cottage and enjoyed a dramatic windy night at the Minack." July 2010."We have had a great holiday at Hollydale, the cottage and garden have been just perfect for relaxing and recharging. Other highlights have been, apart from the amazing weather, a walk across the fields to Mousehole and back along the coast to Lamorna, a day trip to Scilly and seeing the puffins, Minack, and dinner at the cafe on Porthmeor beach watching the sun set. Thank you for the use of your cottage, your hospitality and all the helpful advice." June 2010."Just wanted to say that we had a fabulous week in Cornwall - helped by a full week of sunshine! Mousehole is picture perfect and I definitely recommend visiting. Carbis Bay is great for swimming whilst Sennen Bay had four basking sharks parading up and down all day which the kids loved. The cottage is lovely and the kids loved the garden." June 2010."We have had a fantastic stay at Hollydale Cottage this week. The cottage was perfect and we all felt instantly at home. We enjoyed several BBQs in the lovely garden throughout our stay. The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring West Cornwall and we enjoyed trips to Lizard Point, St Ives, Helston, Praa Sands, Porthlevan & Mousehole as well as the local cove at Lamorna. We also saw a baby fox one evening." Fiona & Michael, July 2010. - Location Map
