About Kingsand & Cawsand

Kingsand & Cawsand tourist information
  • Beautiful and quiet villages
  • Area of outstanding natural beauty
  • Take the ferry to Plymouth for a day out

The adjoining villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are the perfect base for the tourist or holiday maker looking for a quiet getaway. The historical fishing villages are unspoilt by time and still retain their colour-washed cottages, narrow streets, pubs, restaurants and shops. There are a good number of friendly pubs in the villages as well as a couple of general stores, galleries and a delicatessen.

Kingsand and Cawsand lie within the boundaries of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park - one of four designated Country Parks in Cornwall. The villages overlook Plymouth Sound and have the River Tamar valley on hand, waiting to be discovered. Looe and Polperro are only a short drive away and both Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor are about a 45 minute drive.

Full Property Description

The Firlet is a desirable retreat for two situated in the delightful village of Cawsand on the Rame Peninsula. It is a cosy apartment attached to the owners bed and breakfast, situated just a 5 minute walk from the village centre and beach and benefits from a pleasant decked area with views across to Penlee Point, Cawsand and the countryside. There is also off street parking for 2 cars.

Situated on the Rame Peninsula, the historic villages of Kingsand and Cawsand offer a haven of peace and tranquility. Relax on the beach or in one of the village pubs or cafes or take a stroll through the narrow streets of colour washed cottages and shops that follow.

Swimming, fishing, windsurfing and water skiing are all available on the beaches or you can follow the coast path through the village and the Mount Edgcumbe estate to Cremyll. In the other direction the coast path takes you round the headland to the glorious sandy beach of Whitsand Bay.

“Didn't know the Rame Peninsula existed. Now on my map. A wonderful holiday. Helped by wall-to-wall sunshine. But a great discovery anyway. Would certainly book with this company again.” Heather Smith, June 2013
We found our stay at The Firlet very enjoyable, it was extremely comfortable for two people and had everything we could possibly want, Kathy and Nigel made us very welcome and we love Cawsand and Kingsand. August 2011.
A lovely spot to spend time away from the madness of the world as it is today. July 2011.
Had a lovely stay at the Firlet in Cawsand Bay, it was really peaceful and relaxing. The views were breathtaking and the garden and the seating area were real sun traps and private. The interior was lovely, very cosy and a perfect get away for two. I would stay in the Firlet again if that was the area I chose for my holiday and I would recommend the Firlet to anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday, Although the Firlet was a perfect quiet get away, there were lots of places to visit round about, and Cawsand bay is a really beautiful place with fantastic scenery. July 2011.
