About Kingsand & Cawsand

Kingsand & Cawsand tourist information
  • Beautiful and quiet villages
  • Area of outstanding natural beauty
  • Take the ferry to Plymouth for a day out

The adjoining villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are the perfect base for the tourist or holiday maker looking for a quiet getaway. The historical fishing villages are unspoilt by time and still retain their colour-washed cottages, narrow streets, pubs, restaurants and shops. There are a good number of friendly pubs in the villages as well as a couple of general stores, galleries and a delicatessen.

Kingsand and Cawsand lie within the boundaries of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park - one of four designated Country Parks in Cornwall. The villages overlook Plymouth Sound and have the River Tamar valley on hand, waiting to be discovered. Looe and Polperro are only a short drive away and both Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor are about a 45 minute drive.

Full Property Description

My View is a large detached house perched above the beach in the tranquil village of Cawsand. The property benefits from some of the most stunning views in the South West. It has 3 balconies, (one large balcony accessed from the kitchen and swimming pool, one accessed from the living area and one from the dining area), where you can sit out and enjoy the amazing views across the beach, Plymouth Sound and out to sea.

No expense has been spared on the decoration and furnishing of this fantastic 5 star property that boasts an indoor pool and spa, sauna, pool table, remote controlled lighting and central heating system, entertainment systems and it even has flatscreen TVs in more bathrooms than you could ever need!

Situated on the Rame Peninsula, the historic villages of Kingsand and Cawsand offer a haven of peace and tranquility. Relax on the beach or in one of the village pubs or cafes or take a stroll through the narrow streets of colour washed cottages and shops that follow.

Swimming, fishing, windsurfing and water skiing are all available on the beaches or you can follow the coast path through the village and the Mount Edgcumbe estate to Cremyll. In the other direction the coast path takes you round the headland to the glorious sandy beach of Whitsand Bay.

From Cawsand, and just a few minutes walk from the property, you can take a passenger ferry across to the city of Plymouth which offers an abundance of high street and independent shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, theatres and attractions to suit everyone. The Barbican and Hoe are steeped in history and are definitely worth a visit.

If you're feeling energetic then Looe and Polperro are a mere half an hour away, with Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor only a 45 minute drive away.

This property especially welcomes families.  A cot and highchair are provided for younger guests plus there are books and toys included.

Please note: The property is accessed along a fairly narrow typically Cornish lane (2.16m wide in places). Large vehicles (4x4s) may have to park in the main Cawsand car park (pay & display ) about 5 minutes walk away.

“My View , Cawsand and Kingsand was a fabulous experience, never heard of any of these places until we searched for a house to celebrate a Birthday. Ages ranged from 10 to 60 and all fell in love with the place. Would love to spend another week or even a long.” Deborah Paraman, October 2013
“The accommodation certainly had the wow factor and the views were stunning. We were a mixed group from 3 months to 57 years and we all enjoyed it tremendously.” Karen Dean, August 2013
“We have just returned from a week in My View. We have been holidaying in Cornwall properties for several years and this has to be one of the best. There were seven of us but the house is so big we all had space. The pool & jacuzzi are a fantastic feature, with the doors open you can relax and admire the view. An evening on the terrace watching the boats come and go was idyllic.” R. Jarrett, July 2013
"A most amazing house, exactly as the photos on the Blue Chip website show. The house is ideally situated, right on the beach. The owners provide everything you could possibly want, which includes things like dishwasher tablets, detergents, soaps - which normally don't get provided in holiday homes. There are so many flat screen TV's - even in the bathrooms - that I didn't count them! If the weather is poor (which it was in the main), there is the pool, jacuzzi and sauna to fall back on. The pool is lovely and warm too! Fabulous place though, great holiday." Peter Sargent, May 2013
"Having just returned (reluctantly!) from a wonderful holiday in Cawsand staying at the spectacular and very special property "My View", I feel that I must let you know how much everyone in our party has enjoyed it. We are aged between 71 and 7, and there was something for everyone. We managed to use every part of the house and we felt at home straight away. The pool area was used every day by the children and at various times by every adult. The views are breathtaking from all the house and we were lucky enough to have good weather so we had several BBQs, which were a memory to treasure. G+Ts out on the balcony with the moon playing on the water are something else that will remain with us for years to come. This property truly is worthy of its 5 star rating. We will certainly consider staying in it again. Well done Blue Chip and thank you!!" Patricia, August 2012
"This was the loveliest holiday time ever spent in Cornwall/Devon and we have visited many places over the years, we will never forget 'My View' for it allowing us to have the best view looking out to sea in Cawsand. Plus everything you needed & more." John Ashley, July 2012
"Amazing property. We were all lost for words when we arrived. So much better than the pictures. 4 adults and 5 children and we still had loads of space, it was always, 'where are the kids?' The pool was lots of fun and the village was gorgeous. 10/10" Catherine, June 2012
Excellent venue to accomodate all the family. Good base for other parts of Devon & Cornwall. Shops close by. Ferry to Plymouth from beach below. Very good Pubs and Restaurants in area. Indoor pool and other inhouse facilities ideal for wet weather days. Have stayed twice and highly recommend the property. August 2011.
The most amazing property and location for a family holiday whatever the weather. July 2011.
"My View is just an outstanding property with its magnificent views over Plymouth Sound. The Grandchildren also took full advantage of the indoor pool. All I can say is thank you to the owners of My View for giving us the oppertunity to stay there." Mr Brown, May 2010
"Everything was well organised, booking, email info from Blue Chip etc. As arranged we were met at the door, given keys and shown around the property. The house was clean and superbly equipped and the views were breath-taking. Great holiday…." Geoffrey, April 2012
