Clovelly is situated around 12 miles to the west of Bideford on Devon’s North coast, Clovelly can truly claim to be an unspoilt, historic fishing village. Privately owned since 1738, Clovelly has been maintained in the style of the mid 19th Century. The village is set into a narrow cleft in the cliff and visitors can walk “downalong” through the narrow cobbled streets, past whitewashed 16th century cottages to the picturesque quay. A small charge is levied on entrance to the village to help pay for its upkeep – once admitted you can enjoy the selection of art, craft and gift shops, galleries, museums, tea rooms and pubs – helping to make this a vibrant and enchanting place to visit. Be prepared for a good walk though - as no visitor cars are allowed into the village.
Hartland gives it name to the Peninsula to the West of Bideford Bay – culminating in Hartland Point, as well as the large village of Hartland midway between Bideford and Bude. Hartland Peninsula has been designated an Area of Natural Beauty – explore its open moorland and ancient woodlands; and discover stunning cliff top views, secluded beaches and abundant wildlife. Visit Hartland Quay – a former important harbour and port on this stretch of coast, now home to the Ship Wreck museum, an excellent pub and some fantastic fishing. The village of Hartland is slightly inland, enjoying a more sheltered position. Within the village you will find village shops stocking general provisions, craft shops, galleries, tea rooms, pubs, a health spa – even its own Brewery!

Full Property Description
A beautifully built bespoke 5 bedroom wooden lodge set in an acre of wooded Devon countryside. The lodge sleeps 10 comfortably, has two living areas and a veranda that runs around the whole property and is accessible from both the living area and some of the bedrooms. There is a hot tub for relaxing in which has been placed on the veranda to enjoy the best views across the valley.
The lodge has it own private drive with parking for 5 cars. From the parking area there is a wooden slope up to the veranda and main door. The beautiful 1 acre garden provides a safe family location to play and walk around with wildlife right on your doorstep, including a bird hide close by. A herb garden also provides fresh ingredients for guests to use in their cooking. Additionally a ramp leads to the front door providing flat access for guests.
The property is close to the beautiful village of Woolsery and Hartland Golf Course. Hartland point and Quay are a short drive away and it is perfectly located to visit the traffic free fishing village of Clovelly.The local beaches at Sandymouth and Hartland come highly recommended and perfect for a spot of relaxation or water sports. Just a short drive away are the larger towns of Bude, Barnstaple and Ilfracombe along with the surfing beaches of Croyde and Westward Ho!
Close to the property are riding stables providing the ideal opportunity to explore the stunning natural surroundings and work up an appetitie to sample the local produce on offer.
Please note: Bookings over Christmas and New Year 2012 must be 7 night stays commencing and ending on a saturday.

- Furnished with a double sofa bed, 2 armchairs, CD hifi system, 21" TV with DVD player and video.
- Direct access onto the veranda.

- The kitchen is solid wood and has a breakfast table that seats 4.
- There is a gas hob and electric oven, microwave, large fridge, large freezer, dishwasher, toaster and kettle.
- There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and a dryer.
