The New Forest offers a wide choice of cycling routes so whether you’re a beginner looking for a gentle ride or a more advanced cyclist looking for a spot of adventure, you certainly won’t be disappointed when you arrive. If you aren’t able to bring your own bikes with you on holiday, there are plenty of cycle hire centres throughout the New Forest, and many of them will be happy to deliver your bikes to where you are staying, complete with helmets and cycle clothing.
With over 100 miles of defined cycle trails, old railway lines and small roads, you’ll really be spoiled for choice as to where you would like to explore next, and with tracks ranging from 3 miles to 21 miles, you will be all set to go whatever your ability. The trails are all set in the most beautiful of locations, surrounded by ancient woodland, open heathland and you may even be lucky enough to spot a New Forest Pony!
Many of the cycling routes pass through quaint local villages full of character, where you’ll find charming tea rooms and traditional village pubs, ideal to stop and refuel during an energetic day of cycling. Also, be sure to pick up the New Forest Cycle Map so you can choose your favourite off-road route.
