Pendennis CastlePendennis Castle dominates the city’s horizon, and is one of the most popular family attractions in Falmouth. The castle was the work of Henry VIII and has played its part in some of England’s most famous battles. The castle is open to the public all year round and gives a rare insight into the fortresses used by the Tudors. The recreated Tudor gun room is one of the attraction’s highlights, and visitors can also explore the original Guardhouse, the Discovery Centre and exhibitions throughout. Pendennis Castle is an award-winning Falmouth attraction, and a great day out for the whole family.

Trebah GardenIf you were hoping to find a family attraction in Falmouth that enables you to enjoy the great Cornwall scenery, then Trebah Garden is just the one! The sub-tropical gardens enjoy a spectacular backdrop of coastal views, exotic plants from all over the world, pretty ponds and even a private beach. Pathways wind between the floral displays for miles, and if your visit inspires you to do more with your own garden you’ll find plants and flowers on sale too. Orca Sea SafarisWith its enormous harbour and traces of a rich maritime history visible throughout the town, you’ll probably find yourself in the mood for a day on the water during you holiday! Orca Sea Safaris are the ideal Falmouth attraction to get a different view of the town, and one that some of the country’s finest seadogs will have admired over the years too. Orca Sea Safaris offer a range of boat trips, including wildlife watching and coastal boat trips led by a local skipper. Glendurgan Garden
The valleys lead visitors to the Helford River, and the gardens that fill them include a stunning Cherry Laurel maze dating back 176 years, and there’s even a Giant’s Stride swing to have a go on! You’ll roam curious plants in the lower valley, and enjoy the sunny scenery of the upper slopes as you admire the creation of the Fox family.

National Maritime MusuemFalmouth’s maritime history has shaped not only the town but Cornwall too, and this Falmouth attraction boasts a collection of small boats previously displayed in Greenwich. There are also hundreds of afascinating rtefacts from all over the world and precious maritime archives. Whether you’ve a passion for the sea and its history, or just want to get to know the town better during your stay, the National Maritime Museum tells its stories through historic boats, pictures and objects for visitors of all ages to enjoy. The museum is open all year round.
