As well as making superb walking ground, the heaths are also home to some stunning animal and plant life – so keep your eyes peeled for the many flowers, butterflies and insects that roam the heaths.

Dog Friendly Exmouth Attractions

Otterton Mill is the perfect dog-friendly Exmouth attraction. Set in a pretty rural valley, Otterton is a favourite with dog walkers, walkers and cyclists – and all are welcome to drop in during their excursions! The mill perches on the River Otter, and is surrounded with easy, flat pathways in all directions – so it’s a great base for a walk with your dog after you visit the attraction.

Dogs are even allowed in the restaurant, so don’t feel worried if you’re all a little muddy after your walk. Just a short walk from Otterton Mill will see you onto the South West Coast Path, but bear in mind that parking at the attraction only allows for walks of up to 30 minutes.

Dog Friendly Pubs in Exmouth

One of the most popular dog friendly Exmouth pubs is found right beside the dog friendly section of the main Exmouth Beach – now that’s handy! The Beach is a friendly traditional pub, serving real ales and fresh food from local sources. Choose from an every-changing specials boards or the set menu.

The Beach offers outside seating should you need to cool off after a run along the shore with you pet, as well as plenty of room within and a welcoming fire for the chillier seasons. The Beach also hosts regular live music, so check to see what’s on during your stay before you pop in so you don’t miss out.

Dog Friendly Exmouth Beaches

Although there is a seasonal dog ban enforced at Exmouth Beach, areas of this beach are dog-friendly all year round if you know where to head. Dogs can be exercised on both ends of Exmouth Beach, so from the Marina to the Octogon Café and from Orcombe Point at the cliff end of the beach are fine.

Please make sure you remember to pick up after your dog, as there have been attempts to ban dogs from Exmouth Beach completely. Additional dog friendly beaches in Exmouth include Coryton Cove and Branscombe Beach, although both also enforce seasonal dog bans.
