Exmoor Family Attractions
Any holiday in Exmoor will have no shortage of attractions to visit and sights to see. Exmoor Zoo never fails to delight visitors of all ages, and is open the whole year round except for Christmas. Lynton and Lynmouth, in Devon, are perfect for a family day out, with a shared cliff railway that offers panoramic views of Exmoor and the surrounding countryside.
For a real journey back in time, the West Somerset Railway’s nostalgic steam trains form one of the longest heritage railways in Britain. The Dunster Show is held on the third Friday in August, in the grounds of Dunster Castle. With entertainment, livestock and even a circus – timing Exmoor holidays during this period means a great family day is guaranteed.

Dog Friendly Holidays in Exmoor

Exmoor National Park is a great place for walks with your dog. Due to the wildlife in the park there are some areas in which it is recommended dogs remain on their lead, so please look out for the signs. Dogs are admitted to the annual Dunster Show although they must be kept on a lead, and dogs are also welcome on the West Somerset Railway for a small charge.
