Description

Sea Shell Cottage offers great accommodation in the heart of the highly desirable Brewers Quay area of Weymouth.

The cottage has been furbished to an exceptional standard, achieving a finish which offers all the conveniences of modern living whilst retaining the original character of the property. Outside there is a suntrap courtyard area, with furniture, offering the ideal environment for dining al fresco on a warm summers evening.

Once the site of a victorian brewery, the cobbled streets and paved courtyards beside the old harbour, known as Brewers Quay, have been transformed into a cosmopolitan shopping village.

The area is home to a selection of shops housing arts & craft items, speciality food stores and gift shops. Here you will also find a range of attractions including Weymouth Museum and Timewalk, a fascinating journey through Weymouth’s colourful history.

Brewers Quay is also home to a fine range of eateries, from cakes and pastries at the Courtyard Restaurant, to traditional pub food and ales at the Excise House Pub, there really are gastronomic options to suit all tastes and appetites.

The Esplanade is within a few minutes walk and offers a picture postcard seaside setting with the golden sands of Weymouth Beach flanked by shops selling traditional beach fayre such as ice creams, fish and chips and buckets and spades.

Nearby, the shallow waters of Weymouth Bay provide fantastic conditions for kite surfing, wind surfing and sailing. This area also played host to a series of major sailing events in the 2012 Olympics.

There is so much more in the area for those who prefer to keep their feet on dry land ,from crazy golf to go karts, the area is home to a fantastic range of attractions to entertain the whole family.

For those in search of culture, Portland Castle is nearby and is considered to be one of King Henry VII’s finest coastal forts. Hardy’s Cottage, the former home of Thomas Hardy, remains largely unchanged from the time Thomas lived there and is where he wrote, Under the Greenwood Tree and Far from the Madding Crowd.

Sea Shell Cottage

Lovely homely cottage ideally situated for pubs, restaurants and shopping and a parking permit was a bonus allowing parking very close to the cottage.

Sea Shell Cottage

We loved the cottage, it was everything we expected from the information provided on the website. The website it's self. Gave all the information about the cottage and the surrounding area. We were all very pleased with the holiday and the booking process.

Great location, great cottage

The cottage was very tastefully decorated, seashell names, which gave the theme throughout as being by the sea, very nice. Light and airy accommodation, plenty of towels and kitchen equipment. Location right next door to the harbour wall with plenty of eateries and pubs within walking distance. A parkland was within 5 mins walk which was a great help for our dogs.... All in all I would recommend Seashell Cottage if you are looking to be in the centre of Weymouth and close to the harbour. Thanks

Really enjoyed our stay

Wish we'd looked at Google streetview before we left as we were surprised to find the cottage is next door to a public convenience! It didn't cause us a problem though. The parking locally was surprisingly easy to find although the area is busy and the permit was essential. The harbour area is idyllic and the local pubs are good. The little local shop is also a deli and is very well stocked. The cottage is very nicely decorated and in immaculate condition. We were very lucky with the weather too. Some of us travelled by train and it was easy walking distance from the station.

Sea Shell Cottage Weymouth

I absolutely cannot fault this delightful cottage. It was clean and tidy with every facility you could want. Tastefully decorated with a sea side theme. It is next door to the public toilets with an ice cream, crab sandwich shop on the other side. Please do not let this put you off because it is so centrally located to the dockside, yacht clubs and has quality museums and art galleries close by. I have never stayed in a cottage before which has so many extras.

Wonderful relaxing week

This cottage suited perfectly all our needs. Fabulous location with all the activity in the harbour to watch, near all the restaurants and a short and very pleasant walk to the beach. The great bonus was not using the car all week as there was plenty to do each day . We are coming back next year!!
