Description

Cormorant View is a spacious house situated in a gated cul-de-sac within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, attractions and sandy beaches of Weymouth.

Internally this spacious accommodation is furnished to a high standard and offers fantastic views over the River Wey, nature reserve and town centre. Externally, the garden offers the perfect place to sit and unwind, or enjoy a barbecue on a warm summer’s evening.

Cormorant View is set in the perfect location to enjoy Radipole Lake, either by enjoying the views from the property or walking around the lake amongst the wildlife. This is a great place for all the family to visit, with a fantastic array of birdlife, from Finches and Robins to the lesser known Cetti's warblers and Bitterns.

The shallow waters of Weymouth Bay provide fantastic conditions for kite surfing, wind surfing and sailing, and played host to a series of major sailing events in the 2012 Olympics.

For those in search of culture, Portland Castle is nearby and is considered to be one of King Henry VII’s finest coastal forts. Literary fans should head to ‘Hardy’s Cottage’, the former home of Thomas Hardy, which has remained largely unchanged from the time Thomas lived there and is where he wrote ‘Greenwood Tree’ and ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’.

Cormorant View

Only a short walk from Weymouth town centre and with double glazing the adjacent road junction was not an issue. House was very warm, lashings of hot water, well furnished and comfortable. Hooks in small bedroom required as no wardrobe. Overall great.

Cormorant View

We stayed as a group of adults on a winter break and we loved the house. The kitchen is well equipped and suitable for a group of eight to dine together. Nice view, nice little yard + we had a warm welcome with mulled wine and mince pies left by the owner.

Fantastic holiday. Good location to beach, shops. Good size house. My family from Australia 3 girls, 2 adults, 2 grandparents thoroughly enjoyed the week. Weather great which was a bonus. Will certainly book again if not too expensive in August another year.

Great week in Weymouth

We stayed at Cormorant View for carnival week, August 2014, with our 2 children (5 & 7) and my parents. The house was perfect for our needs and was clean and well equipped, with the added bonus of Wi-Fi. It is in a great residential location, removed from the bustle of the town but within 10 minutes' walk from the beach. We were lucky enough to spot a parking space in the cul-de-sac for my parents' car, as there is only space for 1 on the driveway. There is a small park at the end of the road, suitable for younger children.

Lovely holiday at Cormorant View

We stayed at Cormorant View during the second week of the Easter holidays. The house was ideal for us as a family with two older teenagers (wi-fi was great) Everyone seemed to have enough of their own space and the facilities provided were excellent. Rooms were warm and comfortable, beds were very comfy, kitchen was well equipped and the shower was great. There is a busy road which you can hear from the master bedroom but surprisingly it didn't bother us (I'm a light sleeper). It was an easy 5-10 minute walk into town and to the beach. We ate out at the local chain pubs mostly, but there are loads of different restaurants to choose from in Weymouth and we also ate in one night (dine in meal from m&s) just to keep costs down a little. All in all this was a great holiday and pretty relaxing. We visited Poole one day but personally we preferred Weymouth and were pleased that we had chosen this location. We drove to Lulworth Cove and walked to Durdle Door which is one of our favourite places in Dorset. One slight niggle would be that the property is getting ready for a good spring clean, but saying that we would not hesitate to stay here again and can highly recommend it.

4 Day holiday

We took my son and his small family a way and this house was excellent with in walking distance to the town and the beach. The house was clean and supplied every thing that you required and the phone call from the owner before we arrived was most help full and gave it the personnel touch.

Sadler family holiday

Stayed at the Cormorant View with my wife, son, daughter-in-law and their 3 children aged 11, 7 and 2. We had a wonderful week and the accommodation was very good and had all that we wanted. The weather was kind to us and I managed to have breakfast most days in the small back garden with the sun beating down on me. It was just a short walk into town which the 2 year old managed as she did not want to go in the buggy. There was lots to do to keep the children happy. All in all a great holiday.

Beautiful house...

What a beautiful house we had the pleasure of staying in for the Easter holidays. Just four of us so plenty of room .The kitchen was well equipped with all that we needed and opened onto a small garden where we could sit in the sun. There is a lovely view from the lounge on the second floor, over the River Wey and the bedrooms were all spacious with very comfy beds and plenty of drawers to unpack our belongings. We really enjoyed the walk into town of an evening past the harbour (where we did actually see Cormorants) to eat out and there is plenty of choice of restaurants at prices to suit all budgets. This property was a great base to visits many local areas surrounding Weymouth and having a parking space was a must as we would have struggled to park otherwise. We would highly recommend Cormorant View.

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday in excellent accommodation which was in an ideal spot. The owner was very cooperative and left us a very nice bottle of wine.
