2 Appletree Cottage

Our stay at 2 Appletree Cottage was really enjoyable. The cottage is located off the beaten track in Sixpenny Handley and is rather remote -perfect for a break away from it all. As the first guests to the cottage we found it to be beautifully presented, clean and tastefully furnished. We found the cottage a great base to visit Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, The New Forest amongst others and the owners recommendations of places to eat were superb. The log burner is a lovely feature and we found it essential to getting the cottage cozy and warm. The owners welcome pack including details about the cottage wifi settings and how to get the fire going was very easy to follow. We particularly enjoyed eating breakfast in the dining area - enjoying the views and feeling the warmth of the sun behind the floor to ceiling bi-fold doors. We highly recommend the cottage to couples looking for a break away in Dorset.

2 Appletree Cottage

A really enjoyable stay. Perfect location for walking and running even in the bad weather. Home from home. Enjoyed the chocolate and champagne a lovely touch of Christmas. The house has been renovated to a really high spec perfect for us city folk. I imagine the location is perfect in the summer when you can take full advantage of the garden and patio doors. Hopefully we will be back in 2014!

My partner and our toddler had a lovely autumn break at Apple Cottage. The cottage was a perfect size with a well-equipped kitchen and lovely wood burning fire. Great base for walks in the wood, visiting Dorset, WIltshire and Hampshire attractions.

Lovely cottage

We really wanted a quiet cottage for our first holiday together and this was perfect. It was in the middle of the forest so really easy to go for a walk and come home to light the fire. However it was also only a short drive to every thing we wanted to do like go to the supermarket as well as fun activities like go ape, going to Poole Quay and Bournemouth. It was great that all the heating and hot water were already set up so we didn't have to worry and the fire wood and fire making instructions were really useful.

Get away from it all!

Stayed three nights in this delightful cottage. Miles of forest walks on the doorstep then back to cosy up beside the log burner. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed, it was clean, warm and welcoming; the only problem......I couldn't live there all the time!!!!!

2 Appletree Cottage - Perfect location!

We had a great time at this delightful little cottage tucked away in the woods near the village of Sixpenny Handley, Dorset. A perfect location for dog walking in the woodland, lots of easy but quiet walks from the door with wildlife spotting thrown in. Also plenty of local attractions-including Stonehenge, Corfe Castle, Studland Beach and Gold Hill, Shaftesbury within easy driving distance. And a real fire to play with in the evenings! Plenty of good local pub restaurants too. Highly recommend this property and straightforward booking process with Blue Chip. Will definitely book with them again. Many thanks!

We'll be back for sure!

Had a wonderful relaxing weekend in this beautiful, homely and sunny cottage. Great walk in the woods plus a trip to Gold Hill, Shaftesbury on day 1 and day 2 to Ringstead Bay near Weymouth for a fab coastal walk. The sun has shone every day. It's been such a cosy retreat in the evenings with the log burner and so quiet! We've really enjoyed our stay, thank you! We recommend the 'Langton Arms' in Tarrant Monkton. Very welcoming staff, good food and dog friendly. We'll be back for sure!

Stay here and experience a 24hr day again

We did just that by chilling, relaxing, reading and watching the birds fly by whist our 13 year old son spent quality time revising for upcoming exams. Our short break in this charming cottage was simply devine. The setting is spectacularly unbelievable. The property is simple and straightforward but comfortable with an elegant quaintness. It has all the mod cons you could need for a 'home from home' experience. The view from the fantastic conservatory is breath taking even on a wet day. With so many walks availability from the front door we started to regret not owning a dog! The lack of mobile reception (O2) was unexpected but the availability of wifi was a massive bonus. There are a couple of head banging opportunities for those over 6 feet tall to look out for.

Will be very reluctant to leave and return to normality. The woods are home to fantastic wildlife and the wild garlic is beautiful at the moment.
