Mini Steam on the Quay is an annual celebration of everything we love about the old fashioned form of train travel and it sees Poole Quay fill with miniature traction engines that entertain all ages. The event takes place in May each year and it attracts those with a passion for the age of steam and visitors curious to glimpse the miniature models up close.
Poole Quay welcomes a selection of mini traction engines that always fascinate and delight, and it makes for a unique day out. Watch the mini versions of the greatest steam trains chug their way around the quay and learn more about them at this interesting Poole event. The display of mini steam and traction engines includes models that have even made their way on to TV (including the Discovery Channel) and they’ll be on the quay between 10am and 5pm.
The event welcomes as many as 20 miniature engines every year and the sight of them in action along the quay always raises a smile. The event is arranged by a steam enthusiast Richard Harvey, and it even offers visitors the chance to board and ride some of the engines,
