Here’s a sneaky tip for when trying out this Poole favourite, book ahead and ask for a table by the window! The views across the lake make this a perfect restaurant for a relaxing meal, and although they specialise in fish there are plenty of other choices on the menu. In fact, that’s a bit of an understatement – Lakeside Fish Restaurant celebrate the nation’s favourite seaside meal and create it using the finest fresh fish and (where they can) local Dorset produce.
The restaurant is run by a pair of brothers, and they take the business of serving up the crispiest chips and the smoothest fish deliciously seriously. This Poole favourite was awarded the title of Best Fish and Chip Shop in the years 2011 and 2012 and its idyllic location is the icing on the cake (or the batter on the fish...).
There are those times when you just fancy sitting on the beach and tucking in, especially when you’re on holiday by the sea, so if you fancy eating outside there’s also a take away service, so bear it in min if you prefer to dine al fresco.
