Poole Quay hosts one of the biggest weekly bike meets in the UK throughout the summer, and every Tuesday between April and September sees bikes line the area from 6pm. The quay closes to traffic for the event and it’s not unusual to see more than 1000 motorbikes on display to the passing crowds.
The event costs just £1 to enter and always has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere as bikers mingle with visitors. The quay makes a beautiful setting for the many makes and models that turn up to join the fun and Harbourside Park often acts as a second venue when the quay becomes too full. The event is fully supervised and it makes for a unique way to spend a warm evening in the town.
Many of the bikes have been carefully modified with custom fixtures and fittings, so this event is a highlight for anyone with a passion for motorbikes. The proceeds cover the running costs of the event and all surplus funds are donated to local charities. Please note that the quay will close to traffic from 5.30pm on Dream Machines days.
The Bike of the Night competition is held each week too, and Poole Tourism invites a new judge every week to select their favourite of the many bikes on show. There are always bike-themed prizes for the winners as well as an invitation to attend the Bike of the Year event which is held on the last Tuesday in September.
