Corfe Castle Model Village

Corfe Castle Model Village

Things To Do

Step back in time and experience Corfe Castle as it would have looked before Cromwell’s troops destroyed it back in 1646. Corfe Castle Model Village sits right in the centre of Corfe Castle Village, and it’s not only an interesting attraction but also a quiet spot to spend some time on a warm day. Surrounded by landscaped gardens, the model village embraces everything we love about the English countryside, and the model depictions of the area impress visitors of all ages.

This is one of those model villages where the attention to detail is painstaking. The miniature houses have tiny Purbeck stone roofs, and each one has been carefully created by hand. The castle is almost as impressive as the real one too, and with the king’s tower looming 20 feet above the moat it’s something to be seen. Don’t just look while you’re admiring the models though, lean in close to the model version of the Church of Saint Edward’s and you may just hear music and the sounds of a choir singing...

The gardens are home to an enchanted fairy garden to spark young imaginations, a tea room in the historic courtyard and the fossil corner. Watch out though, as the life size civil war soldiers that guard the attraction don’t take any prisoners!
