The Golden Cap

The Golden Cap

Things To Do

As the highest point of the south coast of England, Golden Cap is an unmissable Lyme Regis Walk - especially if you don't mind a few steep hills in the name of dramatic coastal scenery. Rising 191 metres above sea level, many choose to aim for the start of Golden Cap to admire its surroundings, but if you’re up to the extra walk up to the top you’ll be rewarded with unforgettable views of Lyme Regis and Bridport.

The Golden Cap estate is owned by the National Trust, and as an important section of the famous Jurassic World Heritage Coast the area is well-kept and perfect for walking. Take a picnic with you as you'll need to stop now and again due to the hills, but again, the views are so striking for most of this route that you'll be glad you did it.
