Poole Sea SafariWhich other Poole family attraction can take you through 198 million years in 90 minutes?! The Poole Sea Safari is a rare opportunity to see the world-famous Jurassic coastline from the sea, and you get to ride in a brand new RIB boat too. Trips leave from Poole Quay and include the Port of Poole, Brownsea Island, Sandbanks, Studlands, the Isle of Purbeck, Swanage, Durlstone Country Park and St Albans Head. There are lots of stops on the tour so passengers can take photos of the stunning scenery, and children over the age of 5 are welcome too.

Brownsea IslandKnown as the best place to see wildlife in Dorset, Brownsea Island is one of the most peaceful family attractions in Poole. The island can be reached via boats operated from Poole Quay and Sandbanks, and its home to leafy woodland, wetland and a huge range of wildlife. Brownsea Island is also a fantastic vantage point for views of Poole harbourand over to the Purbeck hills. The island is well-known as the home of the rare red squirrel, and the BBC’s Autumnwatch was filmed here in 2008. The island is open between February and October.

Compton AcresCompton Acres are an unmissable Poole attraction, and these historic, private gardens are like entering another world. Unusually for gardens, Compton Acres is open all year round, and the attraction is divided into the Wooded Valley, the Heather Garden and the Italian Garden. Bluebells carpet the open glades of the Wooded Valley, whilst bursts of colour stun visitors to the Heather Garden. The Italian Garden boasts ever-changing, seasonal displays and an ornamental pool, and it’s a gorgeous spot for a romantic stroll. |

Eileen Soper illustrated some of Britain’s best-loved children’s books, bringing life to every book by Enid Blyton, Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and many more. Enid Blyton holidayed regularly in Swanage, and many Famous 5 books were based on the sunny landscapes of Dorset. This is the perfect Poole attraction for fans of all ages, as the quirky museum brings our favourite characters and stories to life. |
Farmer Parker's Farm ParkIt wouldn’t be a Dorset holiday without taking the opportunity to explore the countryside together, and Farmer Parker’s Farm Park is the perfect attraction in Poole to do it! The family farm is ideal for children of 8 years and under and their families, and includes an animal barn as well as play areas for indoor and outdoor fun. Children love the chance to get hands on with the animals too.
