The beach is framed by cliffs and makes a stunning sight, and although privately-owned it’s a favourite with those who know the area well. |
Town Beach, Lyme RegisThis Dorset beach sits right on the county’s famous Heritage Coast, and it’s a designated Are of Outstanding Natural Beauty too. The beaches of Lyme Regis have been the sites of some of the world’s biggest dinosaur findings, and lucky visitors still come across the odd fossil or bone! Please note, it’s best to steer clear of the cliffs if you decide to go fossil hunting, as there is always a danger of landslips and mud flows without warning. The beach around the famous Cobb has been enhanced in recent years with imported pebbles and sand.
