Dog Friendly Dorchester BeachesIt would be a shame not to experience the famous Dorset coastline during a dog friendly Dorchester holiday, and Weymouth Beach is just 20 minutes’ drive away. This sandy beach rolls off to the horizon for as far as the eye can see, and with the Georgian seafront behind this choice makes a lovely sight. There is a seasonal ban on dogs, but you’ll find a dog area throughout the year at the Pavilion end of the beach. Don’t forget this is part of the Jurassic coast, so enjoy the views while you’re there!

Dog Friendly Dorchester WalksSpeaking of walks, we’ve found a dog friendly Dorchester stroll that you’ll both enjoy. Ratty’s Walk is one of the best walks in the town for those with pets as it’s a circular countryside stroll. Although the grass tracks it follows make it easy enough for us two-legged folk, your pet will be free to enjoy the rural side of Dorset. This walk was designed to help visitors get to know the area’s wildlife, so please keep your dog on the lead if necessary along the way. Ratty’s Walk is a mile and a half long. |
Dog Friendly Dorchester PubsIf you venture a few miles out of Dorchester town to the pretty village of Martinstown during a dog friendly holiday in Dorchester, you’d do well to make a note of The Brewer’s Arms! This traditional country pub welcomes dogs along, both in the gardens and main bar, so it’s just the place to pause for lunch during a day exploring the countryside. The Brewer’s Arms operates a popular restaurant, as well as offering snacks and a take away service. Please note that this pub is closed on Mondays. |

Dog Friendly Bournemouth AttractionsBorough Gardens easily top the list of the dog friendly attractions in Dorchester! This rolling, green expanse has plenty to do for the whole family as well as sprawling grassy spaces to enjoy with your pet. The gardens include tennis courts, a bandstand, a bowling green, snack bar and a play area for the children, so it’s easy to while away a summer’s day here. The gardens are just a few minutes’ walk from Dorchester town centre, so you’ll find them easy to reach no matter how often your four-legged friend fancies a walk!
