You can’t miss the Princess Theatre in Torquay, it stands right on the seafront beside the Princess Gardens, and it isn’t only a prominent feature of the town but of its entertainment scene too. Breaking the tradition of the seaside theatre, it hosts major shows and musicals every year, bringing the biggest characters and most talked about performances to the bay.
The stage was first graced by Tommy Cooper and the comedy legends Morcambe and Wise, and since then it’s gone on to present the finest faces of stage and screen. The Princess Theatre has hosted Grease, Chicago, Starlight Express, Derren Brown, That’ll Be the Day, Jimmy Carr, David Essex, Jim Davidson, Legally Blonde, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and hundreds more shows.
There are no booking fees for group bookings of ten or more and all patrons can book hospitality packages in advance to make the evening even more special. Oh and how could we forget, the Princess Theatre plays host to the annual Christmas pantomime (oh yes it does...). Breezes restaurant and bar inside the theatre enjoy incredible sea views thanks to its waterside location, so it’s worth booking a table for dinner before the show. There are five wheelchair spaces available at the theatre, and there are also carer seats located beside or behind them.
