Excellent Company

This is the second holiday we have booked with Blue Chip Holidays. The web site is very clear and both properties have lived up to expectation. Blue Chip staff are great, very helpful and extremely efficient. Singleton Manor is beautiful, great location. Lyn the property manager was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble and always on hand to answer our questions. The manor was warm, well furnished and an ideal family party house.

Singleton Manor is a wonderful place

Singleton Manor is a wonderful place for a group holiday, the kitchen, dining room and lounge are all beautiful large rooms with lots of space for a big family, and the pool is a great size and fun to have some inflatables provided for games. The hot tub was really popular as it was lovely and warm, despite being mid-November! The facilities are really good, there is everything you could want for cooking for a large group in the kitchen, and the house was a nice, warm place to stay with toasty underfloor heating in a few rooms. Lynn was great and really helpful during our stay - thanks very much - we hope to come back!

We had a lovely family holiday. Aged from 18 months to 76 years, there were 4 generations. The accommodation was clean and spacious, with those little extra touches. I.e. beautifully laid out towels on the beds and soaps in the bathrooms and toilets.

Feel bad that is the end of our time here at the Manor. We have enjoyed wonderful weather and great BBQ’s. Fantastic pool/hot tub and trampolining. So peaceful – something for everyone- our group age from 20-76. Good time had by all. Thank you Lynne for all your support, you have looked after us so well. We take away many happy memories. Awesome time at the most amazing place. Be back next year, can’t wait!

Manor holiday for large families

9 members of our family recently visited Singleton Manor in Torquay. Great place for children of all ages - ours ranged from 23months to 8 years. They loved the large indoor swimming pool, and hot tub, which was a godsend due to the poor weather for the week. (Half term). Due to it being half term we did of course have to pay over the odds for this property. The size and layout of the Manor House was excellent, and meant the baby could go to bed early and not be disturbed by the other 2 children, and of course, adults who were enjoying the pool/hot tub. facilities in the Manor House were excellent, all the cookware etc you could need. Possible drawback, if any, no bedrooms had any televisions. Great gardens for children to play out.

Singleton Manor

Our stay here was absolutely great! We enjoyed playing hide and seek as well as various water fights. Playing pranks on each other was definitely a highlight of our stay! We will definitely visit again and recommend it to all our friends and family.

Singleton Manor

There were ten of us in our party, all adults and we stayed at Singleton Manor for 3 nights (wished it was more!). Lynne, the owner, met us and showed us around the manor, and left me with her contact details. She gave us lots of information about the local area and advice on where to eat etc. She couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The manor was beautiful and absolutely spotless and only a ten minute walk in to Torquay, (a bit of a trek up hill on the return journey though, but the taxis were very reasonable and available in the harbor. The pool was very warm. I would definitely want to return to Singleton Manor one day and would highly recommend it for couples or families. Blue Chip were also very helpful and replied to any emails I sent them the same day.

We stayed at singleton manor Monday to Friday. The only problem we had was I wished we had been there longer, so another visit is well on the cards. The accommodation and the grounds are the same as the internet pictures. The swimming pool was so warm you did not want to get out of it. And it was a first for the hot tub. Perfect weather all week. Lynn was so kind and helpful on arrival and departure. You really should try this property it is magnificent. Jenny and Brain Freeman

Singleton Manor

The property, Singleton Manor, is simply stunning! We arrived to a warm welcome from the owner, Lynn, who explained briefly the workings of the house - then left us to it. It was good to know that she was on hand (next door) in case a problem arose. Fortunately it didn't. Sadly the weather was atrocious but that did not detract from the enjoyment of our weekend - it was a significant birthday for my husband and we had most of his family with us. The pool and hot tub provided welcome relaxation - and despite the number of our party, plus a few extra guests for the big day, we never felt crowded.

Another marvellous stay at Singleton Manor

Thanks once again to Blue Chip for their help in organising our stay and adding last minute changes to our booking. Our thanks to Lynn for making us feel so welcome for a second time. As the house is so large the three generations of our family were able to find their own space if peace and quiet was needed. The house was warm and clean and the swimming pool was enjoyed by all. Even though it was February we spent some evenings stargazing from the hot tub. All in all a truly lovely stay in a superb house which is within walking distance of the sea at Meadfoot Bay and local shops and the Harbour.

My fab 50th birthday celebrations with my family

We stayed at Singleton Manor for 4 nights as I wanted to spend a long weekend with my family to celebrate my 50th Birthday. When looking for somewhere to stay it needed something for everyone including my 5 yr old Grandaughter and this place did not disappoint. Also my daughter and I have six month old puppies and they were allowed to the property with us which was great. The property has an amazing new hot tub, indoor heated pool which my grandaughter would have slept in given half the chance. The grounds were huge and beautiful and the little puppies really enjoyed the freedom. So for anyone that wants somewhere to completely chill with all the facilities you could wish for get booking now.

Singleton Manor

What an amazing holiday we have had. Our annual, week long, holiday with our children and grandchildren did not disappoint. This stunning house and its facilities delivered on every count. The rooms were simply beautiful and the house catered for all of our needs. The pool, of course, proved very popular with the grandkids, as well as the adults and the chilled atmosphere of the hot tub in the exquisite surroundings of the beautifully landscaped gardens were unforgettable. The stunning living area and the relaxing Atrium were enjoyed by all but the kitchen was the hub of all activity with its open planned expanse of space. Chris was extremely welcoming and always on hand to help with anything we needed. Location was perfect, 10 minutes walk to the Marina and all of the Torquay amenities and shops. We visited local attractions too such as Paignton Zoo and the Living Coast which were brilliant for the children. We enjoyed a few days out to other local areas and the ferry links to Brixham, Dartmouth and surrounding coastal destinations are superb! This Grade II listed building is a Torquay treasure and I hope it continues to be experienced by many more. We like to visit different places each year so that we can see as much of the UK as possible but something tells me we will certainly return to Singleton Manor!

We spent two weeks at Singleton Manor, three generations, from 7 months to 63 years, it suits everyone, there is plenty of space both inside and out with privacy. The pool and jacuzzi were a special favourite with everyone. No bad points at all.

Manor house par excellence

Singleton Manor is probably one of the best places for a family to stay in Torquay. A couple of families consisting of 8 (with 2 toddlers) people stayed at the property for a week in March 2015. We were extremely fortunate with the weather. The things we liked about the property (to name the important ones): 1. Your own swimming pool. 2. Hot tub was glorious. 3. Underfloor heating on ground floor was delicious in bare feet. 4. The grounds were wonderful for the toddlers to explore accompanied by an adult. 5. Location is very close to seafront. However given the steep hills (typical all over Torquay) access on foot is not really suitable for the elderly. 6. Whole house is very light & airy. 7. Bedrooms are large & beds were comfortable.

A great week in Torquay

I booked Singleton Manor for a week's break with my family and their families. We were not blessed with the best of weather but that didn't prevent us from enjoying a great experience and visiting a number boo the sites in the area. The indoor pool and hot tub were definite winners and we also had a great time in the evenings playing some of the many games. The arrangements all worked well and I would definitely recommend you to anyone interested in a similar break.

Singleton Manor

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week at Singleton Manor. It was perfectly furnished and the whole family relaxed together. We were delighted to be able to take our dogs which made the family holiday possible. (No one had to stay home to look after them!!) The younger children can now swim and my Aunt, who has been very ill, had a holiday with her family again. Thank you for all your care and assistance and please pass on our thanks to Lynn, the owner. We will certainly recommend this delightful property.

A Week at Singleton Manor

We recently staying for a week at Singleton Manor. There were 6 of us covering three generations, youngest being 14 and oldest being 71. The pre-stay communications were excellent and communication around key collection and meeting upon arrival perfect. Singleton Manor itself is quite an experience, a fully-blown Victorian Manor House, beautifully decorated in a mostly period way but with some more modern touches to keep us happy (e.g. kitchen and bathrooms). There seemed to be bathrooms everywhere! There are several standout features at Singleton Manor: 1. The heated pool and pool room are fantastic along with the hot tub. 2. The Atrium is a natural focal communal area and is terrific 3. The grand piano in the main living room (parlour?) is great - especially if you are a musical family like us. All the bedrooms are huge and there's plenty of space for people to get some quiet time if they need to get away from the team. The garden is lovely - a little sloped but Torquay and area is exactly that so nothing wrong there. It did provide a challenge to our elder party but the kids and the dogs (2 of) loved it. The grass needed cutting on arrival which happened for the garden in the middle of the week which improved it again. One or two gremlins/grumbles which you always have on a self-catering holiday 1. The wifi was inconsistant. We could only get it in a couple of the rooms and whilst this was of no issue to me (as I was escaping a life of constant IT) it did cause a couple of 'moments' for the youngs and surprisingly the elders of our group (eldest is into e-books so downloading was an issue). 2. The electrics gates had stopped working which again wasn't too much of an issue other than a worry about the dogs getting out. That said, we should have the responsibility to keep them monitor, but the garden was great for exploring if you are a dog! Lynn, the owner is great - nothing too much trouble and very responsive if you have questions of any kind of problem. All in all it was definitely a very positive stay from the views of all our party. Something for everyone and the highlight for us was the Victorian Murder Mystery Party we had during the stay, another recommendation for anyone considering a group holiday there.

Wow factor house!

Overall this property was spacious, well equipped and had great facilities. We all made full use of indoor heated pool and outside hot tub especially at the end of each day. The atrium was a particularly good place to congregate and lounge around. The gardens were extensive and well maintained. Lynn the owner couldn't have been more helpful. Would certainly recommend Singleton Manor to large family groups who want to spread out in comfort.

A piece, of old England

We have holidayed here before and found the owners investment in decorating and upgrading the place very worthwhile on our return visit. As usual a very warm welcome. A couple of issues were very quickly resolved, you can ask no more. We will holiday here again as it is so quiet, yet plenty to do With our constant return it speaks for itself and our satisfaction. Highly recommended. Jill & Brian

Singleton Manor

We arrived as a complete family (10) from 4 months to 86 years > 3 generations for my wife's 60th birthday and it truly lived up to every expectation. The pre-photos although did it justice the opening of the front door and viewing on our arrival had the wow factor, bigger, as advertised and rooms to get lost in. The kitchen and equipment was of high standards, washer / drying the pool made the holiday and it's additional facilities - we did not really have to leave the manor. The grounds were ideal for the children - you could kick a ball and fly kites, BBQ'ing was a pleasure. The atrium was very relaxing for the older generations. All in all 5 stars to Lynn who assisted us during the week. We'll be back next year if we can get in after this review.

Singleton Manor

We booked this week as a family get-together to celebrate a 60th birthday and, as it turned out, a honeymoon. The property was first rate and offered great facilities that we all enjoyed especially the swimming pool and hot tub. In fact it was so spacious that we almost lost little Amelie when attempting to go out for a meal in a local restaurant. This property was absolutely ideal for the purpose and we will have great trouble finding anywhere as good for a future holiday together.
