There’s something of a magical feel to the Kents Cavern show caves in Torquay at any time of year, but they’re even more special during December when Santa sets up camp inside them. Following in the footsteps of the people who called the caves home all those thousands of years ago, Santa and his friends take to the underground caves to welcome visitors on selected days throughout December.
As well as the chance to explore the fascinating caves with a guided tour, visitors throughout the festive season can also pop into Santa’s grotto and spend some time with him and his friends. There’s a gift for each child, as well as mulled wine and a mince pie for the mums and dads.
This special event's always popular with families looking for an unusual way to mark a festive day out in Torquay, and when you step inside the twinkling grotto you never quite know who’s going to greet you along with the man in red himself. It may be Mrs Christmas, it may be Mary the Fairy…but whoever it is will make the visit one to remember for children of all ages.
