Description

Taking you away from the stresses and strains of everyday life is Old Seaway Mews. Located on the edge of the beautiful South Devon village of Stokeinteignhead, you can get away from it all, whilst still remaining in close proximity to the lively seaside towns of Teignmouth and Torquay.

The traditional exterior gives way to a bright and modern space with an open plan living, kitchen and dining area with floor to ceiling beams, and other features giving a visible reminder of this property’s original guise. There is a spacious double bedroom with en suite bathroom, the second bedroom is accessed through the Master bedroom via a separate door and stairs.

Outside you have your own peaceful terrace to enjoy those quiet mornings or late evenings when all you can hear for miles around is the sound of birds and other wildlife, or if you can be tempted to leave your surroundings, then there is a great country pub, The Church House Inn which can be found in the centre of this tranquil village, plus a highly regarded traditional village shop for essentials and local free range eggs and fresh bread.

This is an excellent location for a peaceful and relaxing break and is ideally suited to guests who wish to bring their four legged friends along as there are great opportunities for coast and country walks including the stroll down to Maidencombe Beach via the award winning Thatched Tavern.

The Babbacombe Model Village and Oddicombe Cliff Railway, fishing in Shaldon and the numerous boat trips around Torbay can all be found within a few miles of the apartment, and if you don’t want to take the car, then there are a number of charming coves and beaches along the South West Coastal Path which runs within a mile of Old Seaway House Mews.

A little piece of Heaven

Staying at Old Seaway Mews in a lovely little Village in Torquay was quite a trip. Tucked away down a little country road you will find the beautiful house. Inside is spacious with everything you would need. The family who greet you are lovely and recommend local places to go. I was greeted by fresh made brownies, local eggs from the farm and fresh bread from the village shop. Aside from the beauty outside my window I was incredibly comfortable on the big sofa watching TV. And the bed was perfect. I melted in and didn't want to leave! Overall I can only highly recommend this idyllic beautiful place.

Old Seaways Mews

We had 7 days in very comfortable accommodation which was very well appointed, with all mod cons. Our property manager Rose, made us very welcome on arrival and provided a welcome pack which included chocolate brownies which were delicious. The property is in a rural location within walking distance of Maidencoombe Beach and two traditional Pubs serving good food. We intend to return next year.

Easy to book and great cottage

Seaway Mews had everything we needed on arrival, it was warm despite the freezing weather and there were brownies on the table. The owners took great care to make sure that had all that we needed and were very friendly. The Mews was very clean and spacious. There was a lovely shower, warm bed, and all the essentials we needed like tea, milk and bread.

Old Seaway Mews, Stokeinteignhead

We couldn't have been more pleased with this cottage. It was absolutely spotless - cream carpets and sofa and had a very luxury feel to it - not what you expect when you are taking the dog! The owners had thought of everything and the cottage was very well equipped. So many lovely goodies were left out for us - fresh flowers, home baked brownies, wine, bread, milk, eggs, butter, tea, coffee, sugar. They even left toiletries in the bathroom - way beyond what was expected. Apartment was in a small village and about 20 mins walk from a friendly pub which served good food. You do need a car as it's a little isolated but this suited us perfectly. Lots of nice dog walks within a short distance. Well situated for visits to Shaldon and Teignmouth - both of which we loved, and Torquay and Brixham in the other direction.

Easter break

My husband, grown up son and myself enjoyed an excellent few days at the mews apartment. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The little extras of chocolate cookies and fresh eggs were most appreciated. I would thoroughly recommend this property.

Old Seaway Mews

22,5,15 Arrived at Old Seaway Mews with our two children and the dog to a warm and very friendly welcome. A beautiful little cottage in quiet breathtaking surroundings. The owners have thought of everything from the delisious fresh baked brownies and welcome pack of wine, eggs, milk, etc. to even the smallest details to make it feel like home away from home. There are plenty of places close by to visit and if you like walking there are some fabulous coastal walks, we really do feel that we have found a true hidden gem even had wi-fi to keep the children occupied and can't wait to book again. It's the best UK holiday we've ever had, even our 11 year old son that is usually impossible to please loved it. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Superb Holiday Cottage

My family, 2 adults with 2 children aged 7 and 9, and two well behaved Labradors, stayed at Old Seaway Mews for 6 nights. We had a lovely reception from the very friendly owners, even though we were late (10:30pm), as we had travelled up from Brighton, the owner greeted us straight away with the keys (they live next door). The entrance to the cottage is up a stairway, and then into the spacious lounge/kitchen/diner, which led onto the first bedroom with ensuite bathroom and then down a further set of stairs to the second bedroom. All rooms were superbly furnished with matching accessories. There were lots of lovely extras provided on first arrival, everything was thought of: there were chocolate brownies, coffee, tea, milk and sugar. There was even plenty of toilet paper, shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. Even extra towels were provided for the dogs! The cottage is a good walk to the local shop and pub. There are many lovely beaches in the area and we enjoyed going on the steam train from Paignton to Dartmoor, plus the ferry crossing across Dartmouth. There is lots to do in the area, even if the weather is bad. We really enjoyed our stay there, and would be very happy to go back!

Lovely accommodation in the heart of the countryside

Even though we were only planning to be in Devon for a few days to visit our mum, my sister and I wanted to have a bit more space than that offered by sharing a room in a B&B. This was the perfect choice, with two bedrooms and an ample sized lounge and kitchen area. Clean, practical and with comfy beds, the only real inconvenience are the steps up to the shared bathroom in the middle of the night from the second bedroom. Local pubs are absolutely fantastic and the location is perfect between Teignmouth and Torquay with Waitrose stores within striking distance! Visitors should be aware that this property doesn't have a dishwasher nor a continental french press for freshly brewed coffee.

Great apartment in a lovely location

We spent a very happy week at Old Seaway Mews. The apartment was comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. On our arrival, we were delighted to find fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, home-baked brownies, bread, milk, eggs, butter, tea, coffee and more. The apartment was well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It is located in a quiet country lane, within walking distance of the coast and two pubs which do very good food. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent Holiday

Could not have wished for a better place to stay, lovely light apartment, so close to so many attractions, wonderful days out. Will certainly consider Sea Mews the next time we decide to visit Devon. Both Rose and David were helpful and very friendly, welcome hamper was a complete surprise, not just the basics, little luxuries to temp you with, we were naturally temped.
