Bay Fort Mansions is a lovely Victorian villa, sympathetically converted into apartments to retain the beautiful original features of the property, whilst incorporating modern appliances for up to date needs. Its location, above Rock Walk and facing south, features views over Torquay and across the bay to Paignton and Brixham. Other attractions in the town include the pre-historic caves at Kents Cavern, Babbacombe Model Village and a step back in time at Bygones.

Torquay is also the birth place of the world famous crime writer Agatha Christie, and many guests of Blue Chip's apartments follow in her footsteps along the Agatha Christie Mile and discover what inspired her. For those in search of some tranquillity then Cockington Country Parks offers miles of woodland and parkland to explore.

Beyond Torquay there are regular bus and train services to Plymouth and Exeter, with the train station only a 15 minute walk away. Take time to also visit iconic Dartmoor National Park and experience the raw natural beauty of Devon.

Maidencombe, Bay Fort Mansions

Just a quick line to say what an excellent company you are. Kate and I holidayed at Maidencombe, Torquay in January and had the best holiday we've ever had. Your brochure pictures are great but my god they didn't do the little apartment justice. And the view, jaw droppingly stunning. Combined with snow, which only added to the scene and a very courageous robin who joined us for breakfast everyday made this something very special indeed. Can't wait for the next holiday, you've got two new fans! Keep safe. Oh and thank you once again!

Blue Chip Torquay!

We stayed at Bay Fort Mansions, Torquay. The apartment was small but beautifully formed! Lack of space (though expected as this was a studio flat with sofa bed) was more than made up for by the excellent elevated position overlooking Torquay Marina one way and the beach the other. The balcony added to the viewing experience along with the massive window bringing the outside in. Direct access to the cliff walk made it really easy to get down to the promenade, as well as keeping us fit! We did have perfect weather. One night we were treated to a brilliant view of a firework display whilst sitting out on our balcony. During the week we visited Torre Abbey - very interesting and lots to see, had a day boat trip to Dartmouth - lovely lunch at The Seahorse, ate a very special evening meal at No 7 seafood restaurant at the far end of the quay, and had a couple of visits to Babbacombe Bay to see the seals swimming freely. This was after a short walk from Oddicombe Beach reached by the cliff railway. We thought the apartment was good value for money considering the wonderful position. We had no problems finding a parking space close to the property. Booking the holiday was straightforward with plenty of information forthcoming and comprehensive details with contact numbers should we need them. We didn't! We would certainly look at Blue Chip Holidays as our first port of call when investigating our next holiday.

Maidencombe, Bay Fort Mansions

We enjoyed our visit to Torquay immensely, we were very fortunate with the weather which was good for May, and made our accommodation very acceptable because of the beautiful view over the bay. We were able to sit on the balcony to have our meals, and to read and to enjoy the lovely view. We spent some time touring the area, visiting the Eden project and the moors and made a trip to Exeter. So all in all we enjoyed our visit and hope to go again sometime in the future.

Torquay apartment

Excellent location with a superb view over Torbay. Easy walk down to the seafront. Very clean. Although we went in August we didn't have any difficulty parking close on the street. We would definitely go again.

Torquay Holiday 2014

We wanted a suitable affordable holiday & found what we were looking for via Blue Chip. Torquay is always a wonderful destination & we found a lovely apartment overlooking the harbour. From booking to collection of keys etc. the holiday was made very easy for us & I would recommend anyone using the company for any planned vacations. I can't really find fault with anything in the apartment itself, except maybe the fold out bed settee which could have been more comfortable. However I appreciate the lack of space in a studio apartment means there is a need for this type of sleeping arrangement. Torquay is gorgeous, Blue Chip were on the ball with the details before, during & after the holiday so thanks to everyone for a wonderful time.

Compact with breathtaking panoramic view

You will find it hard not to be impressed by the panoramic views across Torbay from Maidencombe apartment's window & balcony. Although high above Torquay promenade Bay Fort Mansions offers good access to Rock Walk, Princess Theatre, Torre Abbey Sands beach & Torquay shopping centre within a few minutes, taking account of the hilly area. From the balcony there is a spiral staircase to the garden and a gate direct on to Rock Walk. The apartment itself is compact but well equipped to meet the needs of discerning escapees! The sofa bed is adequate once you work out the back cushions become the legs! Small but modern bathroom & kitchen area. TV & Wifi (on/off). Initially put of by the up then down stairs to access door to apartment but found fire escape door opposite a quicker way out to road. As off season in late October managed to find on road parking nearby. Great little home for a break, loved waking up to the view & enjoyed local walks around Torquay area including the beautiful harbour with a ferry services & South West Coastal Path. Well situated for travelling to other local sightseeing areas in this picturesque & wonderful English Riviera!

Bay Fort Mansions

Me and my wife have Just returned from a two week stay at the maidencombe apartment, at the bay Fort Mansions in Torquay. We are both in our 50s, the apartment was absolutely spotlessly clean, with every item you may need provided, by someone who has put a lot of thought and effort into making the apartment very comfortable.the view from the private balcony was spectacular overlooking the bay and marina,in the distance you could see, paighton and brixham, there was even binoculars provided.what you see on the web site is exactly what you get.Thank you to all for making our holiday very enjoyable and relaxing. Excellent holiday home from home

Hi, just a quick review for our break at Maidencombe holiday home in Torquay. My first thought was this is a bit small but this is an studio. I then I realised that it had a balcony so any feelings of being cramped were soon gone as this has one of the best views over Torbay 'to die for'! The bathroom facilities are completely satisfying with complimentary shampoo, conditioner and even cotton buds. There are too many things to mention here but let's just say we were totally satisfied with our stay. A big thanks to blue chip and the owners, good job! Looking forward to coming back to Torquay.

Stunning views

We felt like we were abroad. Stunning views across the bay and down onto a beautiful garden. The apartment was tiny but had everything we needed and more. We thought the finishing touches, for example seaside pictures, ornaments etc were a lovely idea. The balcony was our favourite area as we could see so much of the wonderful coast and harbour.
