The Living Coasts, at Torquay Harbour, is a unique coastal zoo with the chance to get up close to some friendly seaside animals! The penguins which roam freely amongst visitors never fail to delight, and children love to watch the keepers feed the residents. You may even hear some stories about them while they feast on their fish.
Living Coasts is packed with photo opportunities as the penguins roam at visitors’ feet, so don’t forget the camera. There’s more good news, you can buy a joint ticket that includes Paignton Zoo and save money on your entry fees, just ask at the ticket office.
Wander the world’s coasts as you visit the animals that originate from them, and don’t worry if it’s a wet day as there are plenty of aquariums and exhibits inside too. You’ll not only be able to watch the penguins go about their business on their private beach, but they’re also free to roam amongst visitors and they even have their own zebra crossing to help them cut through the crowds. Underground tanks mean you can watch them dip and dive too, so this is a great place to get closer than ever to the beaky residents.
Living Coasts is also home to the Otter Rapids, sting rays, sea lions and much more. There are activities for children to take part in on their way around, and the cafe enjoys uninterrupted views out to sea. Sitting outside on the terrace on a sunny day is one of the best parts of a visit, and as Living Coasts is a charity you’ll be helping the cause as you enjoy the attraction.
