We can’t think of many creepier places to spend Halloween than in the gloomy depths of Kents Cavern, and the Halloween Ghost Tour is a themed evening of seriously spooky fun. You’ll be taken on a nerve-shredding tour of the prehistoric underground caves with a Halloween-style twist, and it’s best to expect the unexpected as costumed characters with creep up on you, jump out and have you holding your breath for the whole event!
The event is designed to be scary, so it’s not recommended for children under 8 (or for the fainthearted) and booking in advance is essential. One of Europe’s oldest human fossils (a piece of jawbone that dates back an amazing 41,000 years) was discovered in the caves in 1927, and there are few attractions quite as creepy to celebrate Halloween.
Don’t worry if you do have little monsters of your own to entertain, there’s all kinds of themed fun that they can take part in during October half term. The Witch’s Hat joke trail and the Underground Pumpkin Hunt give the caves a spooky twist for the kids, and there’s also a spooky dig planned. There’s no need to book the half term events in advance and cave tours run every 25 minutes.
