Description

History meets modern day at Old Manor Farm in Torquay. A beautifully restored barn, Honsysuckle is part of The Old Manor Farmhouse, a 16th century Devon longhouse, and has retained much of its original character such as stunning oak beams enfolded by the cob and high, beamed vaulted ceilings.

Ideal for a family or two couples, Honeysuckle has an open plan living, kitchen and dining space that makes for an inviting area to unwind, and luxurious features throughout add a little indulgence for those needing to relax. Upstairs, you’ll find flexible sleeping arrangements, as both bedrooms have super king size beds that can be arranged as twins to suit your group.

On sunny days, step outside into the large communal garden with its stone walls and apple trees from the old orchard . There’s a barbeque area with furniture so you can sit back while you wait for your sausages to brown, and the trampoline’s always a welcome sight for the kids.

Honeysuckle is close to Torquay on the beautiful English Riviera, where you’ll find sandy beaches, coastal walks, shops, restaurants, golf and everything in between.

Please note: Honeysuckle can be booked together with Sweet Rose and The Barn to accommodate up to 14 guests.

Honeysuckle was part of the complex which won the 2013 South West Hospitality Awards for the best self catering accommodation and was the runner up in 2014.

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

Honeysuckle cottage was lovely. It was a real home from home and was very comfortable. We stayed over Christmas and were really pleased to find the cottage complete with a Christmas tree and decorations. The owners met us upon arrival and were very friendly and informative on the local area. All in all we had a fantastic Christmas and would love to return again.

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

We came for a relaxing week away: Honeysuckle was lovely, everything we had hoped for and more. We thoroughly enjoyed some great days out including: Cockington Village, Brixham and Paignton Zoo! We'll never forget the amazing cream teas from Angel's tearooms, they were delicious! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful cottage.

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

Having stayed in Honeysuckle for a month we definitely found it a home from home experience. We just absolutely love Honeysuckle and its great location! We recommend future guests take a walk along Brixham Harbor as well as a trip to Hanburys fish and chip shop. We'll never forget the warmth of our host's family (The Brooks). Both the cottage and the coastline were beautiful. Great place to spend January. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for making us feel so comfortable throughout. We will miss you all and look forward to seeing you again next January. Thank you xx

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

We came to Pilgrims Rest for a holiday provided by the THHN charity. We had the most amazing welcoming and perfect accommodation. We have had the most amazing time here enjoying lots of different days out; Paignton Zoo, Totnes, Brixham all provided us with invaluable memories. We also found Woks Cook-in Chinese delicious as well as Amici's Italian. "Thank you" hardly seems sufficient for the wonderful memories you have helped us make, one day they will be all we have. Thank you for all your kindness from the bottom of our hearts xxxxxx

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

We came to Honeysuckle during the half term break; it was perfect for us, especially with the free WI-FI! We found the Thatched Tavern pub great for lunch then a walk down to the beach. We also loved the Cary Arms for a drink. We'll always remember this break for how relaxing and cosy it was. Thank you for the welcome pack, a lovely touch. Just what we needed!" Bev, Ned & "Dylan

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

Absolutely lovely cottage! Honeysuckle was ideal for all our family needs including location. We strongly recommend Teignmouth beach for dog owners, our dog loved it especially swimming in the sea. We also enjoyed looking around Torquay town centre. Great for shopping and a lovely cup of coffee to relax. Staying in Honeysuckle was so much better than staying in a hotel; the kids preferred it immensely more as it felt more like home. Bringing our dog was an extra bonus on top of everything else; it was great not to have to leave him in kennels. Thank you so much for the most enjoyable stay. The cottage was amazing and very well thought out. We truly wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back next year to stay in Threshing Barn

Honeysuckle

We wanted a cottage that would accommodate 12 people including 4 young children. Honeysuckle & Threshing Barns were perfect. Thank you for your fantastic welcome & making the barns look so Christmassy. Everything you needed was close by and all being able to have a Christmas dinner was special. A wonderful stay.

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

We came for a long weekend whilst our floor was being fitted at home, we found Honeysuckle beautiful with very friendly hosts. We strongly recommend future guests make the most of the information packs provided by the hosts! We loved all the beaches we managed to visit, they were great for our dog, and we'll never forget watching him play. Woks Cook-In the local Chinese has to be one of the best Chinese takeaways EVER! Thank you for everything, especially the welcome goodies. You've made us feel more like friends than customers. What a great attitude to have!" Shaun, Dani &

We’ve been here before and just love the 5* accommodation and area. Thrilled you accept dogs and also provided child & pet sitting; so unusual and a definitely plus. The welcome was great, the quality of the rooms superb and the location lovely. Future guests should look into the local area for walks and Paignton Zoo is brilliant. Thanks once again

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

We wanted a home from home holiday close to local facilities. Honeysuckle was exactly what we wanted. We strongly recommend guests try out; Oddicombe beach, Woks Cook-in Chinese and the Cary Arms, brilliant. We will always remember watching the Red Arrows display and enjoying a great BBQ with the other guests. Thank you for making every effort to allow us to have the perfect holiday. The information in your folders is invaluable and saved us a great deal of time! Hope you see you again in the future.

Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle is an extremely luxurious cottage, with everything we needed. We will always remember exploring Devon and seeing some of the most incredible sites before coming back to relax in a nice, warm cottage. Future guests should definitely try out the Eastern Eye Indian in Newton Abbott, the food is incredible. Thank you for the most amazing stay!

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

This was our first visit to Torquay, what a great first place to stay it was! The Thatched Tavern was one of the nicest places we have ever eaten at! We will always remember the warm welcome and friendly advice from the owners. My wife and I have stayed in lots of cottages throughout the UK and this has to be one of our favourites. The cake and wine was a great touch and a lovely start to our break away. Neil, Jo and Zach.

Honeysuckle looked lovely online so we decided to take it, we weren't disappointed. The barn is lovely looking with great amenities and excellent location. Paignton Zoo was a brilliant day out! The kids absolutely loved it as well as the Miniature pony Centre. Thank you for your warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere. Any requests we made were met with no trouble at all! We will certainly be back in the future and will recommend you to friends and family. Thank you.

We came for a family holiday with our young children and thoroughly enjoyed staying in Honeysuckle as it was a home from home experience. We absolutely loved Paignton Zoo as well as AMF bowling! Also, there are so many different beaches to visit which are all within close proximity to Honeysuckle. Thank you for a lovely stay and thank Hannah for her babysitting services, the kids loved her!

We came back to Pilgrims Rest having been here 3 years in a row, we love Honeysuckle. We thoroughly enjoy visiting all the different beaches in the area. The Drum Inn in Cockington serves the most amazing food, future guests should definitely try it out. Keep up the good work and we look forward to seeing you next year. Matt and Cassie.

Honeysuckle

We were looking for a ‘nice’ cottage that was child friendly and peaceful whilst in a great location. We found all of this in Honeysuckle! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Cockington village for a cream tea before going on to model village, which was great for the whole family! Honeysuckle provided us with everything we needed as it had plenty of space for us to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Thank you very much for your hospitality, we could not have asked for better hosts and the weather was absolutely glorious!

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

We were looking for a cottage with some character, Honeysuckle was truly perfect! The information folders provided are fantastic; we advise future guests take a good look through them. There is so much to do for families around and in Torbay; Model village, Bygones and Woodlands were our favorites. We also found; Angels tearooms and the Thatched Tavern incredible for food. We will never forget this home from home experience! Martin and Kim are extremely helpful; nothing is too much for them. The girls absolutely loved the trampoline and the DVD'S provided. It's been brilliant, THANKYOU XX

Honeysuckle, Old Manor Farm

We came to Honeysuckle again this year as we had such a lovely time last year! Of course we have not been disappointed. We have thoroughly enjoyed some exceptional coastal walks close by and strongly recommend future guests take the time to explore these. The Thatched Tavern & Cockington Court was both lovely for either a meal or just a snack! We also loved the big wheel on Torquay seafront! Spending quality time together in the comfort of Honeysuckle and taking our puppy to the beach for the first time are memories I shall treasure. Thank you, we love Honeysuckle, it is known as our 'happy place'!

We came to Honeysuckle for the second week of our 2 week break in Cornwall and Devon. Pilgrim's Rest was perfect as a base to explore the English Riviera. We advise future guests make use of Martin's knowledge of the local area. He is a mine of information and always happy to help. Woodlands adventure park (bit expensive), Paignton Zoo, Dawlish, Teignmouth and Brixham are all fantastic days out. Thank you for making us feel at home and ensuring we had a great holiday

We were looking for a week's break somewhere lovely, Honeysuckle was perfect. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pilgrims Rest. The Thatched Tavern is well worth a visit for future guests; beautiful gardens, friendly staff and lovely food! We also enjoyed both Kents Cavern and Bygones especially if the weather wasn't too great. The scenery around the cottage was stunning, with great restaurants close by, the best feeling knowing we were returning to such a lovely property at the end of the day. Thank you so much for the chocolate cake & wine, such a lovely gesture. The barn was amazing and we'll definitely be returning in the not too distant future.
