Description

Collingwood is a well appointed annex offering a relaxing environment in the unspoilt hamlet of Maidencombe, on the outskirts of Torquay. The south facing gardens boast panoramic views over the beautiful Babbacombe Bay, which is within a miles drive of Collingwood.

The beautiful 400 year old Thatched Tavern is nearby offering hearty meals in the cosy bar and fine a la carte dining in the restaurant. The Orestone Manor Hotel is also nearby and is reputed to have one of the best restaurants in Devon. The restaurant’s English a la carte menu uses the hotel’s home grown herbs and vegetables and fresh local seafood.

With the exhilarating coastal path nearby and the hills and tors of Dartmoor within a short drive, Collingwood makes an ideal base for walkers to relax after a long rambling day. The popular beach resorts of Torquay and Teignmouth are within a 15 minute drive, offering a choice of sandy beaches and a selection of shops, bars, restaurants and attractions.

Collingwood

Our holiday at Collingwood deserves a five star rating. From the moment we arrived and were greeted warmly by Jill, Mike & Poppy the collie, we knew we had chosen well. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, comfortable and has everything you could wish for. And of course the views are fantastic. Heartily recommend.

Wonderful week in Devon

Over the bridge at Teignmouth, follow the climbing road for a few miles then look out! A tight turn left into a very narrow lane of only 3 properties - our holiday home, Collingwood, is the last one. Wow! What a wonderful spot, nothing but the sea in view beyond the cottage boundary (just a bit of a drop!). The owners Gill and Mike, and of course Poppy, were on the spot with the key and lots of useful information. Their friendliness (and beautiful garden) put the cherry on the cake of our holiday. Oh how we wish we could stay longer!

Collingwood

Blue Chip website was easy to use and communication when a change had been done was excellent. Would recommend to anyone. We stayed at Collingwood in Torquay. An attached bungalow to the owners, with outstanding views, lovely well behaved dog to make it feel like home, warm welcome every time but never a nuisance. Lovely and clean with lots of thoughtful items included. The weather was very kind to us and we had a nice week. Fish restaurant No.7 in Torquay is worth a visit and so is Bistro Twenty Six in Teignmouth. Hope you enjoy as much as we did.

Collingwood

From the welcome given to us by the owner we knew we could well be on to a winner. We were shown round the property and were pleasantly surprised at the quality, cleanliness and comfort of our home for a week. The garden and views were superb. The extras of wine, flowers and necessities were so welcome. All in all a most comfortable well appointed holiday home with friendly owners who could not do enough for you.

Collingwood

Great location with excellent views out to sea and surrounding countryside. Made to feel very welcome by the owners, and their lovely and friendly dog Poppy. Lots to see and do locally, or just chill and relax on the terrace or gardens.

Collingwood

This property is situated so that you can get away from it all but is located near all the visitor attractions. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Collingwood

This property has a Visit England 4 star grade, WRONG! this is a 5 star holiday cottage. Your are greeted by the friendly owners Jill, Mike and their wonderful dog Poppy, who you will not fail to fall in love with. The property has everything you could wish for and more, including views to die for. If you would like a restful holiday then staying at Collingwood, you have arrived. I cannot recommend this property highly enough and would be happy to supply more information.

Collingwood

Once you have negotiated the tricky "stairway" to heaven, which is the unnamed Whiteways Lane, you arrive at the gates, where you are greeted by the friendliest hosts you could wish for, Mr and Mrs Leaky. The accommodation is spotless, spacious, and well equipped. Then you go onto the patio and heaven is in front of you with a breathless (and unrestricted) view of Babbacombe Bay with a green lawn as the apron. There is also an "angel

We had an excellent week at Collingwood. We were made to feel really welcome by Jill, Mike and Poppy and felt very much at home straight away. The property is very well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The view from the lounge, bedroom and patio can't be beaten. Highly recommended.

Collingwood is a perfect holiday home for any couple.

Collingwood is a perfect holiday home for any couple. The owners are very friendly, approachable and helpful. The cottage was a 'home from home', very clean, extremely comfortable and contained everything you could wish for in a holiday property. The views were absolutely amazing and everyone could do with a daily dose of waking up to that view! Perfectly situated and central to most holiday highlights, all within easy reach.

Collingwood Torquay

Heaven, pure heaven. Excellent hosts, they made us feel so welcome and almost part of their family. We had the most glorious view, we could have been abroad looking at our photo's. We were lucky enough to have the "English Riviera" weather too. I would definitely recommend Collingwood to any couple wanting an idilic holiday.
