Babbacombe Model Village in Torquay transforms each December, and the world in miniature takes on a wintry appearance as a sheet of snow settles across miniature rooftops, fields and even the teeny tiny pathways. Even the leaves on the miniature trees sit under a coating of snow as the village well and truly gets into the Christmas spirit, and better yet, Father Christmas sets up home for the season in his grotto.
The grotto opens between the second week in December and Christmas Eve, so younger visitors can take some time to come face to face with the man in red and ask him for something special this Christmas. That’s not all though, time your visit right and watch the whole village light up with its festive magical Christmas lights (every day from 13th December after 3.30pm) and there’s even an alpine ski slope for the kids.
The entry price includes the 4D film experience, which will (of course) be a festive film for the whole family. Few of the bay’s attractions get into the Christmas spirit with quite as much enthusiasm as Babbacombe Model Village so if you’re staying nearby during December make sure you experience it.
