If you prefer a cinema with a bit of character than one of the bigger multiplexes Central Cinema in Torquay is probably right up your street. Close to Torquay’s town centre, this Merlin cinema has three screens and one of its big draws is that it’s a cheaper option than the neighbouring multiplex in Paignton. You’ll be able to walk if you’re staying in Torquay, or if you need to drive there’s a car park on Abbey Road just a minute or two from Central Cinema.
Central Cinema shows all the latest films to hit the silver screen, and it’s just a minute or two from the town centre on foot, so if you like to make a night of it you can visit one of the restaurants for a meal before you go.
This cinema closed down temporarily a few years ago and was reopened due to popular demand, so many residents visit it instead of the larger Apollo in Paignton as a rule. You’ll find the usual snacks on offer at the main foyer, and it’s worth nothing that two of the screen are reached via a flight of stairs.
