Description

Set in the peaceful village of Torcross, At the Beach offers a relaxing holiday destination while still having plenty in the local area to keep you entertained.

The apartments are situated at the end of a three mile shingle beach where you will also find a cosy pub and cafes. Slapton Ley freshwater Nature Reserve is also close by and is perfect for spotting wildlife and bird watching.

Apartment 9 is a spacious and bright open plan contemporary styled apartment, overlooking the beach in one direction and Slapton Ley in the other. The property benefits from allocated parking for one car. A cot and high chair are provided on request.

Torcross was made famous as the training ground for US Army forces preparing for the D-Day invasion in World War II. An American Sherman tank which was lost at sea in 1944 and recovered in 1984, and memorials, stand beside the visitor parking as a reminder of the lives that were lost.

Dartmouth is a short drive away, as is Salcombe, both offering a choice of fine restaurants, cafes, bars, unique shops and attractions.

Lovely location right by the sea.

We have stayed here before, it is very convenient for visiting friends and family. Previously we were in Flat 6 but chose Flat 9 this time as we did not require a terrace in January. Both flats are very well appointed.

9 The beach, Torcross.

The apartment was beautifully furnished and well equipped. There were however some household maintenance problems:- Patio doors leading to balcony would not open Toilet not working efficiently in en suite. Cistern overflow into toilet continuous after flush & toilet holder lose on wall. One window did not open & others only a few inches which would make apartment hot in good weather. One bedside light not working. Door tray in fridge cracked & broken. The area is beautiful with stunning scenery & friendly people.

9 At the Beach

A great apartment, located next to the beach. Very good quality, clean and modern furnishings. Car parking close and secure. When the only negative about this place is the occasional wake-up call from the resident ducks in Torcross, you know it's good!

9 At the Beach

We stayed here for a long bank holiday weekend. You will not be disappointed. The apartment is beautiful very clean and new and in a fantastic location right by the beach. There is a little shop nearby and you must have breakfast in Sea breeze next door.

9 At the Beach

This was a tastefully refurbished complex and we would have no doubts about booking again with Blue Chip Holidays and have recommended many people already. Thanks.

Excellent holiday

Just returned from Torcross near Salcome. Everything about the holiday was superb from start to finish. The apartment was well equipped with quality appliances, crockery and comfy beds, but best of all was the weather and fabulous sunsets from our lounge window. Thank you Blue Chip Holidays would not hesitate to book with you again.

Open the windows and hear the sea

This was our second booking with Blue Chip and again it was faultless, everything very smooth from booking to receiving entry codes etc. great at it was booked rather 'last minute'. The apartment is in the old Torcross Hotel which has been converted to smart apartments. We could see and hear the sea from the lounge window, very therapeutic! The apartment was well equipped, comfortable and very clean. We booked knowing there wasn't a terrace / balcony but if we returned we would choose one with a private outside space. Parking was secure with a barrier and entry code and all communal spaces had sensor lighting. Unfortunately the light didn't work outside our apartment which made it hard to unlock / lock the door as it was quite dark. Having said that everything else was great and the whole apartment living experience was very quiet for the amount of people that were around. Visit the Start Inn and have fab fish and chips, all kinds of fish and fantastic deserts too (if you have room!). If you are planning to stay more than a few days take some basic provisions. The little shop next door is great for odds and ends, milk etc. and you must have a wander around the adjoining gift shop. Great place for walks along the beach (golden shingle) have a drink in the pub, visit the tank and watch the sea. If you love nature visit the Ley and explore the wildlife. Dartmouth is along the coast road and a great place to visit. Dropped into Blackpool Sands and had an amazing cream team on the beach - disappointed they only had one parking tariff when we visited though and at £5 we thought it was expensive for September - ok if you're going to spend the day on the beach. A great few days thank you.

Fantastic Holiday!!

Fantastic holiday in a fantastic apartment, in a beautiful village!! Weather was hot and sunny, lots of things to do and see in the area. The cafe and the pub in the village well worth a visit, good food. The pub even does take away. The apartment was beautifully furnished, very modern and clean. Two bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom with jacuzzi. The views from the lounge window, from the right side a sea view and from the left side the lake view. the apartment is spacious and well stocked with everything you might need whatever the weather. Blackpool Sands is well worth a visit!!

Wonderful holiday at the beach

This is the second time we stayed at 9 At The Beach and there is a reason we keep coming back! The location is perfect; very peaceful, secluded, long & clean beaches. Great if you love walking. The apartment is very modern and has all the necessities. Minor issues were immediately resolved by the Property Manager so would encourage to contact him if you have any problems (rather than let a faulty light annoy you throughout your stay!) Perfect to get away from London for a few days!

Calming & Relaxed

We took a chance on the area and we're pleasantly surprised at the excellent accommodation and the natural beauty of Torcross making the five hour drive down more than worth while. Booking the holiday was faultless, also the accommodation was five star. Walks in the area along the sea front or lake excellent. Eating out while looking out to sea/lake very good value for the price. All in all a very relaxing break.
