Description

Set in the peaceful village of Torcross, At The Beach offers a relaxing holiday destination while still having plenty in the local area to keep you entertained.

Apartment 3, named Waters Edge, is a stunning ground floor apartment literally right at the edge of the sea. It opens out directly on to a private beachside terrace where you can dine al fresco and enjoy panoramic 180 degree views across Start Bay. A cot and high chair can be provided for our younger guests. The apartment benefits from allocated parking for one car.

The apartments are situated at the end of a 3 mile shingle beach where you will also find a cosy pub and cafes. The freshwater Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve is also close by and is perfect for spotting wildlife and birdwatching.

Torcross was made famous as the training ground for US Army forces preparing for the D-Day invasion in World War II. An American Sherman tank which was lost at sea in 1944 and recovered in 1984, and memorials, stand beside the visitor parking lot as a reminder of the lives that were lost.

Dartmouth and Salcombe are a short drive away, and both offer a choice of fine restaurants, cafes, bars, unique shops and attractions.

Very good, lovely time thank you. Shame there was a van parked outside the window obstructing the view all weekend, despite the sign there asking people not to obstruct the windows!

The flat was very good but one concern I had was the grill element in the oven. It has come away from its bearings at the front and made grilling difficult. This does need attention please as we are back into this flat in August and do use the grill. Also the grill pan was very burnt and we needed to use foil on it which was not supplied.Otherwise no problems.

Minor Issues that need addressing

Brill place, but few things that need addressing to make it perfect. (Some of the below was previously noted in the guest book.) No instructions for oven and microwave (top notch equipment so required) Never got to grips with the oven! No casserole dish (but cake trays) No large spoon for serving Knifes blunt Can opener didn't work Toilet needs new siphon fitting Some light bulbs required replacement, lovely light fittings Electronic Key to car park not working As I say minor issues, but annoying and the cost should reflect attention to detail. I loved the holiday and stay mainly at self catering accommodation, this one was lovely, but as usual peoples comments are not read or ignored by the previous holiday makers. I left a list of the above at the holiday home. I will definitely look at what Blue Chip has to offer in the future.

3 At the Beach

We had a wonderful time, the apartment was spacious and very comfortable. Everything within the apartment needed for cooking etc was at hand. It was really good to be able to wash and dry clothes rather then coming back with lots of washing.

3 At the Beach

The apartment was as high spec as we have come to expect from Blue Chip. The apartments view over the spacious patio to the sea was spectacular. Nearby cafe and pubs were great and the views from above the complex were stunning.

Wonderful apartment relaxing short break.

As 4 elderly disabled family, we were delighted with this tastefully designed apartment. With all top spec facilities including a jacuzzi and a private patio accessible from lounge or bedroom 2. Minimalist design made for easy cleaning. On the actual beach so suitable for families wanting water activities or people like us wanting lovely views and "chill out" facilities. Shop and pub with Restaurant and take away. FANTASTIC. WILL BE BACK.

Excellent location

We had a great time at 3 At The Beach. The location of the apartment was amazing, only meters from the sea. The apartment was also of a very high standard, although the main bedroom was really small, and my husband kept banging his leg when trying to get past the bed into the ensuite shower room. Also there was no storage at all in the shower room - not even a shelf anywhere, so toiletries had to be kept in the bedroom, which was not ideal. This is just a minor gripe however, as everything was very comfortable and beautifully clean. We had a lovely stay, and the weather was a very unexpected bonus. Coffee on the terrace in t-shirts on 31st October!

3 At the Beach

We enjoyed a fabulous holiday 'At The Beach' in Kingsbridge with our apartment located immediately on the promenade overlooking the sea. The apartment was stylish and modern with quality furnishing and equipment. The location couldn't be better with a nature reserve and lake behind the apartments and the sea to the front. Nice relaxing break, thank you!
