Perfect for Wildlife watching

We arrived excited and looking forward to relaxing for an entire week. The owners were helpful yet at the same time discreet and left us to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Everything we required was supplied within the cottage. We went to The Plume Of Feathers in Princetown, for a carvery. Booking a week prior is essential! £9.95 for a large and £7.95 for a small. We also went to Looe. Which is a lovely little place. The RNLI station was open for visitors, there are lovely little gift shops too. We spent most of our time crabbing in the harbour. The lines, buckets and bait can be bought there for less than £5. Tavistock has a Morrisons and a Tesco if you need to shop for supplies. There is also the Coop at Bere Alston. Tavistock is a lovely town and the Tavistock Inn is a lovely pub that welcomes children and has plenty of games to keep them occupied while the grown ups drank Jail Ale.

Pokelogin

We had a great time here it was loving to have the river tamer so close, so we could go for a swim. It was more like a five star hotel.

Amazing views

The Pokelogin house is situated in a great location 45 minutes from Plymouth town centre where you can find all of the regular retail shops in the drake circus shopping centre inc next, m&s, monsoon and more. If you like walking you can walk to Plymouth hoe in about 10-15 minute from the town centre where you can sit and enjoy lunch or dinner overlooking the coast. There are two lovely restaurants we visited one called The Waterfront and the other one is called the Dome which is owned by Gary Rhodes both have amazing food and the decor is inviting, you just want to go in to have a look around. We also visited Rame head which was about 1hour 15mins which is a coastal drive and has a couple of cafes, there are steps down to the beach but we soaked in the view On the top of the Cliff the views are just stunning, I can see them in my minds eye right now... Breathtaking. Tavistock is also a 45min drive away and is a lovely day out, It is a little town with a indoor market and a few shops inc Wh smith and a great little shop that sells cheeses, coffee beans, wines and biscuits. The pokelogin house is beautiful with lots of character and the scenery is just wonderful there is something about a rural area with water that makes one feel peaceful and at ease. The house has everything that you need and more, but if there was anything else you needed the owners Justin and Harriet would be more than happy to help. We were also lucky enough to see some of the wildlife around the house area - deers, stoats, rabbits and butterflies which I enjoyed taking photographs of. This house and it's location offers the best of both worlds where you can relax and enjoy the scenery at the same time not being to far from the coast or town. We will be definitely returning for another visit very soon.

Pokelogin

Pokelogin is a luxuriously furnished house in a glorious position. The view is completely beautiful, the beds are super-comfortable and the owners, who are close by but unobtrusive, nothing but helpful. What's not to love? We'll be back.

A stunning holiday cottage in a very peaceful and beautiful setting

This holiday cottage is stunning, offering superior accommodation and facilities in an area that is rich in wildlife and views of the river, we loved the peaceful surroundings and watching the deer from the balcony. Justin & Harriet have lovingly converted this building and set a very high standard with the accommodation and whilst their house in on the same site are very considerate and friendly hosts. Can't rate this property highly enough

Excellent house with super location.

Excellent house with super location. We agree “The Plough” is a lovely pub and also recommend trips to Tavistock Pannier Market, Buckland Abbey and Lydford Gorge.

Luxurious accommodation (loved the settees!) with a fantastic outlook.

Luxurious accommodation (loved the settees!) with a fantastic outlook. Wonderfully peaceful with lots of wildlife. Found the food at The Old Plough disappointing but would recommend eating at The Old Sail Loft in Looe, and at Rockfish is Dartmouth. Garden House, Buckland Abbey and Cotehele are all well worth visiting. Thank you for a much needed tranquil escape after our wedding!

An absolutely fantastic week and just what we needed after a hectic family wedding in Devon.

An absolutely fantastic week and just what we needed after a hectic family wedding in Devon. Pokelogin is a most luxurious property and Harriet and Justin are both informative and helpful hosts. The butterflies in the garden were many and varied and I spent a great deal of time photographing the Silver Washed Fritillaries and other nymphalids – absolutely brilliant. The other wildlife is equally amazing and the walks available are well worth a try. We will definitely look at returning again sometime soon.

Pokelogin, Bere Ferres

This house was perfect in location - on the edge of the river, quiet and so peaceful. But also perfect because it was less than an hours drive from lots of places/things to do - cable skiing at Liskeard, Plymouth, Eden Project to name just a few. It was always nice to return to a very comfortable and cosy house with all the necessary facilities. Owners lovely too. Thank you

Great location

A beautiful well appointed house with stunning views. Great location to access both Devon and Cornwall. We had a fantastic family holiday. Harriet and Justin were very welcoming and for a family Sunday roast, we recommend the Plough Inn which does a lovely traditional home cooked food.
