Why is it that seafood always tastes that little bit better when you can see the water? It certainly tastes incredible at The Crabshell Inn, and whether or not it’s due to its quayside location it’s made the inn one of Devon’s most popular places to dine.
Thanks to its position the inn gets the sunlight from morning to dusk, and it’s so close to the water that diners float up in their boats and step ashore to tuck in. However you arrive, all are welcome and the waterside terrace makes a truly special spot to spend some time on a warm day. It’s not unusual to see visitors glide their way over on a SUP board, so if you want to experience life by the water this is the eatery to do it.
There’s a car park for those of you who won’t be arriving via the water, and families are welcome too. The children’s menu makes feeding the little ones easy and meals are serves every day of the week during July and August. The menu includes calamari, Salcombe crab sandwiches and many other seafood favourites, and it’s a friendly pub with a relaxed atmosphere.
