Now, you’ve all seen the programme and now’s your chance to actually be part of it – The Antiques Roadshow arrives at Plymouth’s Royal William Yard on 11th June.
Whether you take that ornament you’ve always wondered about along and see if it’s your lucky day or you just go along to experience the show being filmed, it’s set to be a great day out (not to mention the fact that you might even get to see yourself on TV!). There couldn’t be a more fitting setting for the show during its time in Plymouth, as Royal William Yard sits at the heart of the city’s naval history.
Now transformed with cafes, bars and restaurants, the complex still has the elegance and grandeur from its days as a series of naval buildings, so it’s a fascinating place to visit even when the road show isn’t in town.
The buildings date back to 1826, and as they’re positioned right on the water’s edge a visit not only means the chance to experience one of BBC 1’s most popular programmes in the making but also to spend some time enjoying views across the beautiful River Tamar.
