Royal William Yard may be packed with a choice of restaurants and eating experiences but there’s one that stands out to visiting foodies - and that’s Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen. Right in the corner of the Brewhouse, the canteen specialises in the locally-sourced food that’s made the brand a South West sensation and a visit’s not only a great excuse to sample the taste of the West Country but it’s also a must for fans of the TV series.
The canteen breakfast is always a popular choice with visitors, and the deli means those of you staying in one of our Royal William Yard apartments can stock up on everything you need for your stay in River Cottage style. If you were hoping to take some time out to spruce up your cooking skills during your holiday (ok so you probably weren’t but wait for it…) there are cookery demonstrations available based on the original classes held at River Cottage HQ.
Attendees will be free to sit back and watch closely while the chef demonstrates each dish, and there’ll be samples and coffees to help keep you all alert. The demos are a great way to decide if you’d like to try one of the more specialised courses held at River Cottage HQ, and they’re a fun way to experience Plymouth’s River Cottage Canteen.
