Goodrington Sands are a Paignton tourist attraction in their own right, and they have a Quality Coast Award, great conditions for bathing and a whole host of activities for all ages. With a winding stretch of sand, picturesque surrounding scenery and the occasional passing steam train, a trip to this popular spot is a must during beach holidays in Paignton.
This is a great place for those of you who love to get out on the water, and the lack of wind means it’s safe to be a little adventurous. Hire options include paddle boats, pedaloes and there’s even windsurfing for beginners to try their hands at.
You won’t even have the age old question of how to entertain the kids when the tide comes in, as there’s a Seashore Centre nearby that’ll keep them learning and engaged even when they’ve left the sand. Interactive displays teach visitors all about the English Riviera’s marine life and Geopark, and there’s a crazy golf course beside the beach for those of you who like to show off your swing.
There’s a seasonal dog ban at Goodrington South Sands during the summer, and they must stay on their leads along the promenade.
